Technically speaking these were acquired last month but since I just received them in the mail today, I guess they'll count for August.
I've wanted a clean folded copy of the Italian 2F for Bava's first film Black Sunday for quite a while, so I'm glad to finally get it. Definitely one of my favorite movies of his, with an iconic image on the poster.
The quad for City of the Living Dead completes my Fulci trilogy, love seeing them all together.
While I never cared for the movie itself, most of the posters for Barbarella are pretty groovy, and this hard-to-find UK quad is especially fun, so I jumped on it when I came across it.

Great selection Antoine. I love the Fulci posters too - I thought the Zombie Creeping Flesh quad was part of the "set" until learning from filmonpaper.com it was an artist rip-off.

All great prices!
Have never seen that Barb quad before, love it.

Very nice! All of them! But that Barbarella quad in particular. Congrats!
-
Yep, Antoine, nice going! Black Sunday is my favorite. Best, Okie

Very cool you got the Batman real signatures in person, Tang! What fun posters and variety you put up on many categories today. I'm enjoying seeing your collecting rewards! Okie

Thanks , i try bed1

Been a quiet month for me but picked up this one recently.
I believe it to be a 1923 original one sheet for the silent movie by Goldwyn (pre-dates the formation of MGM - founded 1924) - 'Look your best'.
I have seen a lobby card with the image - 'And dear God please keep us thin' picture, which is also on this poster.
There are other lobby cards on emovieposter history and a glass slide but nothing else.
The actual film itself has not survived, like so many of the older silent movies, so these images are certainly worth preserving.
There is some water damage on the folds but overall it is in good condition, considering it is about 100 years old.

Nice one there, Ealing. Interesting design, how the glamorous dress flows into the montage of nice photos.

I picked this up from Emovie to add to my Dietrich/von Sternberg collection:

Wow, Starling! "I picked this up..." That sounds pretty laid back for something so incredibly rare, beautiful and jumbo! A very nice choice. I hope you were also jumping up and down with excitement a bit in mid and post "pick up". Go Moroccan!!!

And, Ealing, pulling a very early Colleen Moore one sheet out of your hat (Is there a rest to the story on this find????). What nice condition it looks to be in as well even with a bit of water.
Okie

Gorgeous card for Morocco, Starling!

Haha, that definitely wasn't the right wording...Super excited to own this! It was a poster I saw in an auction catalog from 30 years ago, and I'm a little shocked I own it now. Wonder if it is the only one? Thanks for the kind words!
On to the next paper :)

Getting really close now...........only 3 left I think!

Knockin' back another Boris, Schan! What are the three you have left to find or should that remain a mystery until found?! Now, Christie Brinkley is quite lovely, though Beverly D'Angelo should have got an equal or better pose by Boris in my opinion. Beverly was so good in those Vacation movies and is simply stunning. Good luck in the hunt, Okie

Well, I saved the easy ones for last, but I actually realized there is a 4th one I do not have. So, Barbarella R77, Q, and the other slightly more difficult is the one I bought that showed up badly damaged, Deathstalker III. That 4th one will remain a mystery. I may be missing 1 or 2 of those ESB promotional posters as well, but I need to check.

Being a completist is the best way to collect, IMO.

happy1 Being a Boris Vallejo completist is difficult because of the extreme obscurity of some of the films he did art for. I'd venture to say that I am as close now as anyone has ever been!

That's most of the fun, though. Then something pops up that you've never seen, let alone heard of before. It has happened to me so many times before, especially with Bardot. I think like I'm close to having it all and then... Bang! A new piece shows up. That's when it becomes costly, bc there is no way you won't get it and price cannot be a factor. I don't know much about Valero, but from my experience, whenever you think you're done, something else will show up.

I just picked up these 3 folded French posters: Beauty and the Beast style A (1946), Bowery at Midnight (1947) and Robinson Crusoe on Mars (1964).
I already have the style B for Beauty and the Beast, so now all I need is the double panel for that title.
I had never seen any French poster for Bowery at Midnight until I came across this one, so this was an exciting discovery.
I also own the US one sheet for Robinson Crusoe on Mars (it is quite easy to find), but the French poster is unusually rare.

That French Beauty and the Beast is in the top 10 posters in this hobby. Congrats! What a work of art bed1
-
And the condition!?!!? Incredible.
Sorry, I just love that poster so much haha.
Kudos again.
-
I agree with you Starling, that Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourites (as is the 2-panel). Love that Robinson Crusoe on Mars too, hadn't seen it before. Congrats Antoine.
Schan - I think you should update this thread with all your Boris goodies so they can be seen in one place! He's a superb artist: http://www.allposterforum.com/index.php/topic,657.msg209511.html#msg209511

Thank you Starling and Tob for your effusive comments! I also love that Beauty & the Beast poster, especially since this was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid (I can't wait for my son to be old enough to watch films so that I can show it to him).
-
I concur. Great Belle et la Bête, Antoine.
Are you going to try and remove the sticker at the bottom or you don't care? Can it be done without restoration?
And do you own the medium size one? I still need to find that one.

When I'm done Tob, I will. Or at least, when I think I am done, because T is probably on point with his assessment. Hell, just a month ago, I picked up Amazons, and I wasn't aware it existed in poster format.

Actually I will leave that Swiss sticker at the bottom right just the way it is. I don't mind snipes, stamps and what others might consider flaws on a vintage poster, as to me those added elements are part of the paper's history. Those are quite common on some Italian and Belgian posters, and I never remove them.
I don't have the French medium size poster; while it is quite nice, it's not as high on my list of acquisition since it's a smaller size and I typically don't collect small paper. Also, it's basically a colored photo, and I always prefer a painted or drawn composition over a photo-based design.

Wow, what a triple threat post of amazing posters, Antoine! Three beasts of beauty, indeed! A whole collection in three posters! Okie

Barbarella's quad is really beautiful, it would look stunning on my wall in front of my 'One Million Years BC' Quad ;) (there are graphic similarities, right?)
For my part, I just received my last purchases (only my 2nd purchase for this year).
Notably, a litho poster that I was looking for, with Gene Tierney: China Girl.
In less condition than the poster recently sold on eMovie (and on which I bid to have it unsuccessfully), but I paid for it 5 times cheaper.
(https://i.postimg.cc/vxcQr5tP/IMG-2372.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/vxcQr5tP)
Then, a poster from the same era, 'So Proudly We Hail' with Claudette Colbert, Paulette Goddard and Veronica Lake
(https://i.postimg.cc/yJtn6Hrk/IMG-2371.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/yJtn6Hrk)
In the same genre of films I would like to have the posters of Thunderbirds and the two models of I Wanted Wings.
It's not my genre of movies at all (having watched a few) but I find the posters really nice.
And finally, the poster for Corman's movie 'The Raven'
(https://i.postimg.cc/87nmwGGt/IMG-2373.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/87nmwGGt)
As a bonus, a Lobby Card (waiting to find the one sheet). Fritz Lang's film noir with Joan Bennett, 'Secret beyond the door'.
(https://i.postimg.cc/WdDXBzXQ/IMG-2374.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/WdDXBzXQ)
Immediately received, immediately framed, replacing the 'The astounding she monster' poster and 'The Mole People' title LC.
(https://i.postimg.cc/bsrTndcs/IMG-2377.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/bsrTndcs)
(https://i.postimg.cc/c6Xh6wzp/IMG-2380.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/c6Xh6wzp)
(sorry for the photos quality, taken quickly upon receiving, under a very disgusting light)

Yea, really nice

I'll be the third to say nicely done, Anthony! China Girl for 1/5 of the price? That's a great deal on a beautiful poster! It's wild that there seemed to be almost no China Girl and then we see your great one sheet along with a small handful of large posters the last few weeks. What wonderful news! Okie
