Title: Indiana Jones and the TOD Style B Licensed Reprint
Post by: thebhuhhuh77 on March 17, 2021, 10:58:44 AM
Hi Guys n Gals.

Haven't been around for the longest while but wanting to get back into (not that it ever went anywhere really) this whole movie poster thingy.

I purchased a number of years ago as I'm sure many of you did, a selection of Star Wars and Indiana Jones ATTOD posters from Lucasfilm a.k.a. at the time starwars.com when they actually sold some decent stuff. This was at the time when they apparently discovered a whole bunch of really cool and desirable items in a warehouse they didn't even know were there and then put them up for sale. I missed out on the Phantom Menace Advance one sheets but did manage to snag quite a few Japanese ROTJ posters and a few of the ROTJ onesheet styles A and B.

But here's the thing. They also sold me a couple of one sheets style B for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom touting them as being 'Original' and that is how I started selling them but the first one I sold I had returned because the buyer stated that it wasn't an original but more likely a licensed reprint. Miffed I became at the selling by Lucasfilm something not it was (bad Yoda). I can't find anything online that references a licensed reprint for this poster. The poster measures 27 x 41 and 1/8th inches and the buyer of this told me that it should be 41 inches. Bruce's emovieposter.com currently have this style poster up for auction and they state the size as 27 x 40 so does anyone here have a clue.

Sorry if this has been discussed before but I'm scratching my head so much on this I have a bald spot.

Cheers in advance.
Brian

Tell they buyer that they are wrong and misinformed on this.

I am assuming you are speaking about the Style A/Bruce Wolfe/Indy-with-a-sword style...those are actually both 40 and 41 inches long (usually with small white border on top and bottom making up the extra inch), several printing variants on both.

Style B (Struzan) is always 40" long btw.

Hope that helps.

Another self proclaimed expert.  Have to deal with a one of these every couple months or so. Not worth the argument, send it back, and refund, then block the buyer  ;D

Wow!

Coincidence that it's been just a little over a year when I posed the question on my Style B Indy.

Sorry for the very very late reply to your replies guys as I've just gone through a tube to find a Wall E poster and found the Indy in there as well which reminded me.

To Mr Wonka.

Thankyou for clarifying the size as my original question stated the wrong size of 27x41. I measured it again just now and its 27x40 and yes the Struzan version so I'm going to go with Lucasfilm not selling me a dud.

To Dale.

Always a pleasure and thank you too
