Title: Experimenting with restoration
Post by: piercarlo on July 15, 2020, 11:26:34 PM
Hi

After an in depth reading of Pulpfixin posts, I decided to give it a try to basic poster restoration. My approach for now is to limit my work to de-acidification, gentle bleaching and linen backing.
I recently got this "Terror of the Tongs" poster from eMoviePoster (outstanding site).

It has this stubborn stain on the top (see detail). It is less evident on the back of the poster. I used Calcium Hypochlorite as bleaching agent (ph 11). A five minutes bath.

My question is:
what is the general approach to localized bleaching?
Is airbrush the best way to deal with this kind of stains?

Thanks
