Hi

I thought it might be interesting to launch a a seperate thread on IMAX posters / banners / quads or the big cinema banners that often advertise IMAX on them.

I have a few of them (not many but a enough I think to start a thread) which I normally post in latest acquisitions but maybe good to have a seperate thread and maybe you guys can share imax posters from other countries to compare.

I'm not aiming to keep hold of these long term and I can maybe get one or two spares of the Imax promo posters if anyone interested.

I honestly did think about getting plugged in and sorting all my Skyfall and SPECTRE IMAX variant posters.

But then upon seeing the list, I equally and honestly did bail.  Below is the complete list of all these films' posters (I only collect UK/US posters) and you will see that in large part, each dated issuance has an IMAX variant.  19 in all.  I was sure the world did not need to see variations upon a campaign already well known and, in Skyfall's case, not loved.

Well, ok.

The first one is, to my mind and experience in, first, believing that it did exist to, secondly, finally finding one in poor-ish condition.  It is the International White Coming Soon Imax.  The rest all popped up fairly easily.

The UK versions have tended to have the actual date of release on them.  More so on the main release posters.

All those shown above are, I am guessing, a mix of US and International posters.  But, these are advance or teaser posters.

This may be better illustrated by the main release versions.  In this case, of SPECTRE.

Wish I had. There’s many Imax theaters around here but never end up in one.
I go for the key art and love the imax styles for posters. Too bad 99% of the time the use the art for bus shelters and minis and not 1shs.

Not posted anything for a while in here as not had any new iMax posters for ages apart from this one for iMax Le Mans '66 - very different design from the Uk Quads and 1 sheets.

Did you get the Uk or US one? Are they just the same then?
