Title: September 2018
Post by: guest4955 on September 01, 2018, 04:38:15 AM
Theme of the month:

Not photoshopped! Just a "lucky" shot. (Not mine)

My new buying strategy. I'm now an incorrigible news junkie and don't have time to endlessly scour gazillions of MP auctions like the old days, so I only daily check the "most watched" Ebay auctions (https://www.collectorsweekly.com/posters-and-prints/movie/auctions?sort=mostWatched?sort=mostWatched) and the top-priced bids on HA/EMP, so I have to get "lucky" to find bargains.

So these were "most watched" on eBay but went cheap. The seller bought them from a Universal Studios security guard who got them after removed from employee lunch room:

(Got "second chance" offer for $213, some thin scratches)

*****

Rare 1978:

Got last of 4 offered by seller; found it on "most watched - sold" and luckily discovered another was being sold.

I'm also too lazy nowadays to check FMV, so I guesstimate I paid FMV for these EMP captures (based on 4yo memories):

I've got Dale Dilts Ebay bookmarked (https://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=&_dmd=2&_ssn=ddilts399&_sop=10) to buy cool current releases like:

I'm too lazy to watch the entire movie nowadays but I really enjoyed first 45 minutes so I enlisted Devin to find a rare B1 from Japan Yahoo:

More poster goodness there, Chris.

Congrats!

What size (or what is?) THE STREET WITH NO NAME?

It looks too long to be an insert. And it also looks like it's printed on regular paper (not card stock), with cross folds.

And the art on the German HIGHWAY 301 is fantastic, too. (And, of course, Bogie always shines, too!)

I cant imagine there are many of those, in that particular size, left around these days.

Nice PASSAGE TO MARSEILLE. The way Steve Cochran is grinning on the HIGHWAY 301 could be a flashback of Big Ed just relishing the idea of pumping lead into Cody Jarrett. But Cagney got him first and right through the door. Bye, bye Eddie!

I won this recently.  I think the main image is a great shot of Ms. Berry, and her autograph is a bonus, that surprisingly didn't command a high price.

Nice one, B, and that's a really nice pic of Halle Berry on this one, too.

Is this a B2 size?

And did the person you get it from obtain her sig?

Thanks.  It's a B1.  The listing didn't say anything about the history of it, but it's from a good seller in Japan.  I compared it to some known examples of her autograph, and with my self-appointed authentication expertise it appears authentic.  8)

I think Halle Berry is a national treasure!  She's a great talent, and must be a joy to film as every camera angle is her good side.  Congrats on the autographed B1, Neo.   Okie

Just checked this thread for the first time.  Didn't know it was the September issue.

Mel, your first three posters are great.  I need to find one of those Battlestar posters.

Soo I have bid on this poster numerous times the past few years, and here I had one rolled on top of my cabinet the whole time. I need a warehouse where I can get everything organized!

Another Belg to arrive. More Hammer-time.

FRANKENSTEIN AND THE MONSTER FROM HELL (1974), with P Cushing and a pre-Vader David Prowse as the Monster.

OMG, it happens to me all the time now.  And I have no excuse.  I have a very precise spreadsheet and a website.  But I see something at Emovie or HA, I'm at the park with the kids, I don't have time to check and I bid.  It's always small amounts, less than $100 for sure, but it's annoying.

Been looking for county land for years to put up a 40x60, real estate in town here is just crazy high. The other option is drive 30 minutes to a small town for something reasonable which I am not ready to do yet.

I acquired this Jaws 2 advance poster. This is the undated version, which means I now have all three versions of this poster. There is this one, one that has 'ALL NEW' above the title with the date underneath the title, and a third version without 'ALL NEW' but with the date below the title.

Nice!!!  That's a great poster, even if my countryman Jeannot "Santa Claus: The Movie" Szwarc is no Spielberg.  Got a feeling Zanuck/Brown is probably more at fault here.  A great campaign nevertheless.

Nice looking poster, there, eric! Congrats on this pickup, and completing your trio.

Ive always really liked the intense red sunset sky and just the lone fin up thru those high waves. It's more terrifying (to me), of what you actually DON'T see on the poster.

And no date=less text=more art to see. NICE!  thumbup

Hi everyone, hope all of you are well.
These are some international IMAX posters which I think are quite unique.
(http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w401/angelflyover1/APF/jl1_zpswoscn4ma.jpg) (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/angelflyover1/media/APF/jl1_zpswoscn4ma.jpg.html)
The comics version of justice league. This version is used in Malaysia.Although the design is just OK,but still fine to me as I like the movie.

During the IMAX premiere of Justice League in Singapore, there is a set of character posters on display outside the screening hall,it is a pity that the rest of the character posters are damaged and this is the only one which condition is OK.
(http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w401/angelflyover1/APF/iw_zpsmynsqw71.jpg) (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/angelflyover1/media/APF/iw_zpsmynsqw71.jpg.html)
This is the IMAX version of Infinity war used in Singapore. This movie is quite popular too as there are still many fan theories on how the movie will end.
Have a good day ahead everyone.

Hi Angelflyover,  Thanks for posting these international IMAX posters!  I really enjoyed this comic art version of Justice League.  When we lived in Bangkok, we sure enjoyed the grand movie poster and standee displays.  It's very cool you get to see them now.  I'm a bit jealous!   Okie

This is the reason that I like this poster, too, the best out of the 3, angelflyover. Because is it drawn art and not just the use of photos or CG generated/designed imagery. Very nice poster, for sure.  thumbup

Haven't picked up a new poster in forever so I wanted to share. I've never seen this artwork for this title with English text before. Always loved skateboarding and this was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid.
