Thanks, fellow horror collector. >:D
Jeff, I believe Reynold Brown did indeed create the artwork for that poster. The movie, while not great, is a fun early adaptation of Lovecraft's The Colour Out of Space.
So funny you say that, okie, as I always thought Karloff was shown in a hoodie, too, on that artwork.
When he's actually peering thru a Gothic shaped window.
HA identifies the artwork (on posters they have sold of this movie) as being by Reynold Brown. I dont have a copy of that Brown book, or I would have checked there, too.
Hi Jeff, Yes, I saw the archway as well and looked again and there is a hoodie looking image that runs down the side of Karloff's face to his shoulder. It's weirdly cool hoodie, shadow, archway terror!!! Okie
A brick and stone hoodie..might be a new fashion statement, 53 years later. :D
I usually don't post my new acquisitions, but this is one I really like and it's going straight to the bedroom ;)

The latest.
A French 1P for the movie, Die, Monster, Die (1965), with Karloff.
I always thought this art was kind of creepy, with Karloff's eyes being left pure white. And I like the color combo, too. The style of art of the "damsel in distress" at the bottom of the poster always reminded me a bit of the style done by Reynold Brown.

I'm a big fan of some modern minimalist designs/designers that have come out in the past few years (Kellerhouse, Marauder Midnight, etc.)
Thanks, Ted.
Now to finally try and nail down if the art was actually done by Reynold Brown or not. Ive gotten and read differing info. I would assume that if he had done this poster art, it would be shown in that awesome Reynold Brown book.
all of his work is not pictured in the book, not even in the second edition
See more recent post above. This poster though, IS in that book. ;)
I'm well aware of that. My comment was that all of his work is not in the book.
something that is also an important need, is a list of exactly which posters were done by who and what portions.
for instance, Brown did the CFTBL one sheet main art, but the poster also has a Kallis illo, as does the 3 sh
the wc & 6 sheet are by Kallis. Brown did one hs.
because no such list exists, many people think he did all the posters for the title and all the art on those posters, which is incorrect.

Chomp on this.
I really dig Killing of a Sacred Deer. Great modern poster design.
Nice hodgepodge there, Chris. :D
Great poster by Brini!! Great movie!!! Perfect combo!!!
I own a few Argentos too and it's a great collection to work on.

This one?
It's the rarest style with glow inks.

Matt has that beautiful dayglo soggettone for sale
Nice Shape of Water.
And didn't know the Dolby Last Jedi existed as a one sheet. Jealous!
T
THIERRY...straight to the bedroom? Oh my. Nice poster and all---but what will the missus say?
m154cath---NICE!!! I especially dig the OLD DARK HOUSE poster. Thanks for posting.I agree, Monster! It's quadlicious! Also, your elves has a bit of Grinch in it, eh? Okie
It HAS been a bit slow on this thread this month. Hmm. T, I love your new stuff. I am particularly fond of the YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE and the Thai GREMLINS. Oooo yes. Me like.
I wasn't going to bother...but I'll just throw up three from my current purchases---not the best/not the worst--like I used to do before the whole Photobucket fiasco (Now that I can see them again, i don't know why i stopped). So here are three:
THE EVIL DEAD 2 (Thai):
Seeing Thierry's Thai GREMLINS inspired this choice of the three (out of 10) from my recent post that I chose to share here. You gotta love those Thai posters. They're so dang COOL. EVIL DEAD 2 is a great example (as is the GREMLINS one).

Okay. That's three. Eh... I tried.
Come on people. POST YOUR STUFF. We wanna see it.
CHEERS!
JEFF: Sorry. I'm not all that well versed in Thai artists, but I do like the art on this one.
DAMO: Super nice pickups. I especially like that HALLOWEEN re-release and the HOUSE OF 1,000 CORPSES. Zowie!
Okie: You are always ever so kind, even on my lamest of posters. A bit o' GRINCH in the ELVES poster? Perhaps, but ELVES came long before the live-action GRINCH.
CHEERS!
A hodgepodge a new grabs... I had to lay off collecting posters for a while, but have been able to creep back into it lately. This is the first haul since then that I have been really excited about... feels good.

Paths of Glory, 2 different Goodfellas, Fistful of Dollars, The Old Dark House, Metropolis..........<sigh>.........how come WE never get nice reissues over here in the USA? There was a 1-sheet made for Old Dark House but it was black and white and mostly a giant close-up of Karloff. Not that there's anything wrong with that, mind you.
Hey Shawn.. Looks like the Thai artist who did your EVIL DEAD 2 poster was someone named Tinda.Elementary, my dear... Sherlock Jeff is on the case. THANK YOU for the info. You are ever so resourceful. CHEERS!

Seems there could be a market for well done, artistic, true theatrical RR posters...
I think the missus would be quite happy to see them all go!
Thanks guys, I believe it translates to the film of ship of monsters
Here you go, Mike. >:D
I found it on youtube. The movie was distributed by Columbia, too.
