What did you think of Victor Frankenstein Matt?
-
Last night's Halloween viewing (and a first time ever watch for me), was The Body Snatcher (1945) with Karloff & Lugosi and produced by the one and only Val Lewton and with direction by Robert Wise. clap clap
Quite good, and I enjoyed it.

What did you think of Victor Frankenstein Matt?
Ehhh... it was ok. Too much slow mo/sped up fighting. Felt more like a Guy Ritchie movie than a horror film.
-
Young Frankenstein (1972)
Frankenstein meets Wolfman (1948)
Planet Terror (2007)
Death Proof (2007)

Or if it was actually a 1970!
-
Freaky.. and what a BAD girl Patty McCormack is. >:D
The Bad Seed (1956)

The Curse of the Cat People (1944)

Is that curse of a real poster? Cool design. Great flick too...

I'm not sure if it's genuine, now that you ask about it. If not, it should be, as I think its also a great design pulls you in, visually.
I'll see if I can find out more about it.
In case it's just a digital creation, I'll add this version, in the mean time.

They Live (1988)

The Innocents (1962)
Still one of the best ghost stories ever shot on film.
If you haven't seen it yet, you're missing out.
On TCM OnDemand

Last night.. a first time watching of The Devil's Bride (1968). I always rather liked the poster, but the movie is very mediocre, imho. I was disappointed. :-\

I’m on the road driving right now so I can’t do pics, but saw these yesterday:
Targets (1968)
Thing From Another World (1951)
-
Last night I watched two that I haven't seen since theatrical release:
BLACULA (1972)
SCREAM BLACULA SCREAM (1973)
After watching them last night, I quickly remembered why I haven't revisited them in 40plus years --
THEY ABSOLUTELY SUCK!! (no pun intended)
They were so awful. Ugh.
-
I am surprised Ted, I don't mind them myself..

Love that Casaro art, Matt. thumbup

Just watched these back to back:
Godzilla (1954)
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (1956)
Sadly, just an R76 B2 -- still looking for a first release :)
And on a side note, this Belgian 'King of the Monsters' poster probably has my favorite snipe of all time pasted to the bottom!

I stand corrected Paul.
Thank you!

Im watching The Old Dark House on TCM right now....
Just another great, old school UNI horror flick, from director, James Whale, and starring Karloff.
And Gloria Stuart is stunning. thumbsup.gif
-
Scanners (1981)
Frankenstein (1931)
Leopard Man (1953)
Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992)
-
I really like Bram Stoker's Dracula, Matt...but I think that Keanu Reeves' acting is this rather weak in this one. (imho) ;)
But Gary Oldman's performance, the overall direction, phenomenal makeup and music score certainly make up for that one more lackluster performance.
-
Agreed with Keanu -- and I'd add Ryder -- but everything is top notch. I love what Coppola was going for with it and it's a Halloween tradition for me now :)
-
So how did y'all do this year? I count 30 -- not my best October showing, but respectable I think!
Man Who Lived Twice (1936)
Prom Night (1980)
Maximum Overdrive (1986)
Sleepy Hollow (1999)
Day of the Triffids (1962)
Invisible Man (1933)
Victor Frankenstein (2015)
Corridors of Blood (1958)
Wolf Man (1941)
Mr. Vampire (1985)
Young Frankenstein (1972)
Frankenstein meets Wolfman (1948)
Planet Terror (2007)
Death Proof (2007)
They Live (1988)

For sure.... aside from KR, the film is top notch all the way around, for me, too. thumbup

I need to watch The Man Who Lived Twice, Matt. It's been on my watch list since i picked up this first release French poster for the film, about 9 years ago. The art is by C. Belinsky.

I was surprised how much I liked it given how little I'd heard about it. Strong female lead -- will maybe be my daughter's first horror film some day :)
-
I wrapped up Halloween with a bit of a marathon....
The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967)
House of Wax (1953)
Poltergeist (1982)
The Old Dark House (1932)
The Haunting (1963)
-
The last flick I watched.. and it was on Halloween night, was The Haunting (1963).
Creepy as hell. It had been years since I saw it last and it did NOT disappoint in the least. The great direction by Robert Wise and added sound FX, of things you dont even see, really make it a chair grabber.
