A fellow collector has had a rolled Great escape Quad stolen on route to his house.
It is believed to have gone missing in Amersham London.
It is exceedingly rare to get a rolled one of these so anyone being offered one, please let me know.
Thanks.

Terrible news Paul. I'll definitely let you know if I come across one.
-
Thanks Matt.

I saw this posted yesterday. Terrible.
Imo most of the stuff that goes missing is because when insuring items you have to put a value on the documents.
Ive sold a few £4000 items to America and it is a dam worry that they might go missing.
Royal Mail really need to find a way round that to please both buyer and seller (and stop dishonest mailing staff from realising they are handling a high value item and stealing it)

Sorry to read more of this thieving news, Paul. moron1 With the topic of sending items insured (or not) discussed a little bit yesterday, was this item sent insured, with it being more rare and valuable?
-
Yes it was insured Jeff, but the company are disputing the claim.
As you know the buyer would rather have the poster back anyway...

Oh, of course.
I was just curious.
Thanks, Paul. Here's hoping someone comes across it, in some fashion, and gets it back to the rightful owner.
-
Lets hope, Jeff. I know what it's like from personal experience...
A few of us have placed posts all over, if anyone is on Mopo still if they can do the same, as I can't excess my account , maybe as I haven't used it for some time...
I get a feeling it may go to a restorer to hide what it is... so if any restorers are reading please contact me if you get offered this Quad..

Paul, I'll pin this thread for a while, so that it is kept at the top of the list.
-
Thanks Jeff, really good of you.
-
You're more than welcome, Paul.
Here's hoping that some good comes of this, too.

Yes.
One of the reasons I would prefer just tracking than to advertise to many people the value of contents in transit.
No insurance for me, until the value is not advertised in 100Kw lights all over the front of a package.

i'll keep em peeled
-
Thanks Paul.
-
Terrible to hear, and sorry it happened.
But, since it is a rolled quad, I know our man Ed can find it.
-
Hope he does, I do fear that it will be sent to a backers to hide the fact though...
-
In the unlikely event it ever gets offered to me I'll be in touch, Paul (I saw the post on Facebook too).
-
Thanks Ed, Must be a nightmare with something that expensive, I've lost one that was in the £25 region, and was quite vexed about it...
-
Any news or updates on this missing quad, Paul?
-
The guy did get paid out off the insurance, but Obviously he'd rather of had his poster back. Finding another one of theses rolled will be a nightmare...
Not sure how this would work now if the poster turned up...
-
Awful. This is why i'm hesitant to ever declare the full value of a piece. The declaration serves to attract thieving magpies.
-
I would think that if his insurance paid him in full for the poster loss (claim), that he no longer has any ownership of it, should it show up in some capacity, or for sale somewhere, down the road?
Dunno, tho. dontknow.gif
