looking at Heritage's list to see what's happening with the Casablancas and it's really just amazing
the one sheet is currently at $16,000 ($19,200 with BP)
the Italian 1953 is $36,000 ($43,020 with BP)
the Italian 1962 is $32,000 ($38,240 with BP)
and even the 1962 photobusta set is at $7000 ($8365 with BP)
these are just amazing prices
wow!

this poster is at $60,000 bid ($71,700 with BP)

Personally, I don't get it. I don't see myself spending more than $10k on a poster. Above $10k, I'd only buy fine art, not freakin' movie posters. No offense to the ones amongst us who do.

I think it's all relative to what one has available to spend AND what one wants to spend on a movie poster.
I'm sure many would see that $10K number and think the same "I dont get it," too, either because they would never opt to spend that kind of money on a movie poster, dont have that kind of cash to spend on a poster, or both.
-
the argument about what to spend your money on is relative.
if you tell a single mother who makes 16k a year that you spent $100 on a poster, she thinks you're crazy, because she's trying to save $10 to buy her kid Wal Mart sneakers.
it's relative

Whether you have one poster worth 60K or 1000 posters worth $60 each.... Were all riding the same crazy train.
Just don't forget to get the kids their shoes as well.
-
my kids don't need no stinkin shoes, they run around barefoot.
and they only get a bath about once a month.
they also sometimes eat their own poop.
-
I'd lie to anyone who cares.. That Italian is beautiful.

And Lot 86187 isnt too "Invisible" either, currently at $80K ($95,600.00 with the BP).
Such a cool looking poster, imo.

The '53 went for $90K (plus the BP) and the '62RR for $75K plus the bp!! thumbsup.gif notworthy.gif faint2.gif

Why did the Photobusta set go so high?
-
And the first release Danish poster just went for $75K plus the bp. happy1

who knows what the answer is to hepcat, but all I can say is
UN-BE-LIEV-ABLE

Pretty impressive for a Danish, eh?

You betcha!

probably all won by the same deep pocket, who beat the other deep pocket
$38k for a backed one sheet.. backed.
that unfolded one that sold to Dave would have gotten way more than this backed one.
-
Yeah, Bruce has sold some of the Photobustas in past. Highest single was $383, and a 4 ct. lot went for $164. Maybe the 2 single cards Bruce hasn't sold are incredibly rare, but $42,000 + BP is absolutely insane.

pretty hard to argue against HA being the place.
their one-day total is $2,096,880.00 and they still have 300k+ for tomorrow
impressive

I'm sure someone will say that Bruce's sale of the unbacked one for 26K was more impressive, and that there was zero indication Heritage would do well with Casablanca material today.
