Title: Origins of Fake Thunderball Quad?
Post by: Rideauwrangler on October 11, 2016, 12:03:45 PM
I found this at a thrift shop, framed, and I was happy to buy it for next to nothing.

It's the wrong size, it has a slight gloss to it, and it's rolled....this can't be a 50 year old piece of paper. But I do think it could be  a 30 year old piece of paper. Everything I read online about fakes references U.S. one-sheets from the 80's but I can't find anything about fake U.K. quads...

Anyone come across one of these? Any on-line references? Opinions? Thanks in advance!

These aren't fakes so much as licenced reprints.  There was never any design to pass them off as originals.

I was going to ask you to confirm the measurements but you've covered that off nicely.  Spot on.

Hope you really did pay next to nothing for it.

I paid $5 CDN (and it was in a frame) so considering one sold at EMP this year for $25 US I think it was money well spent :-)
