The Fright Night poster is an absolute classic, I love that. The poster for the sequel is also amazing.

Night Train to Terror (1985)

Not my favorite horror movie by any means but the poster art is better than average and quite misleading.

I see what you did there and i love it. That is my all time favorite horror sci-fi film. I my other free time i'm working on doing tube content for giggles. Here is a review i did for Critters 1986. I have no onscreen personality but i'm just trying to assume myself, check it out if youre ever in the mood. Please don't judge me.

Ive never seen Critters, but I always like the poster imagery and when the Japanese version popped up, I decided to go for it.

I will check out the movie, for sure.

And The Outing poster art by Drew Struzan is top notch!

I personally love it with it's light hearted nature and it's practical creature FX. The poster with the creature proudly displayed on it is fantastic.

Old school, mechanical (built) SFX are the best. No doubt about it. The FX were real and not just created on a hard drive and inserted later, in post production (Critters, Poltergeist, SW, The Exorcist, Jaws, Friday the 13th, the original Hellraiser, etc come to mind).

Overdone CGI can be just lazy (at times... and  now, cheaper, too). And it can look it, as well.  :-\

I agree all the way, CGI has its place but people rely on it way too much now. This may not be a good example but compare J.J. Abram's Starwars VII (the force awakes) to George Lucas's Starwars I (The phantom menace). Both used large amounts of CGI but Starwars I used almost 100% CGI and i my opinion SW VII had more life to it.

In my opinion the 80s produced some of the most amazing art. The Lift is a movie that i've been wanting to see for a long time now, it don't think it has a DVD or Bluray release. The tagline is hilarious.

As i understand it Beetlejuice was going to be a straight horror movie but at some point it became a comedy. I have to say i think it's a great movie and couldn't imagine it any other way. A little fun fact for you, my brother actually did some work for Tim Burton's "the nightmare before Christmas". He did some concept designs for merchandise of the brand.

Thanks guys, i have about 85 posters from the 70s to 80s. I'm sure that isn't very much compared to the average person on this forum though. I'm getting less posters now but the price seems to be going up, isn't that the way?

I've always liked the Elm Street film series, and there are some fantastic Elm Street posters around from different countries, and I have to say that some of the Japanese Elm Street posters are certainly quite unique in their design, a good one Jeff thumbsup.gif

With all that blue, I can't say that it's an Italian thing.... even tho the poster is.

But the art is by Kirby. So maybe that explains it, Okie.
