Couldn't figure where to post this one so thought I'll make my own thread for when I want to post some of my collection.
Here is a Thierry hates "French Grande" (possibly 1960's) The colours are really vivid:

Thanks, some people choose to hold down their posters by using their toes, or scarab beetles or garden implements or rocks, but I chose on this occasion to use my finest bone china in keeping with the dinner theme.

Very impressed with the clean wooden floors...
And my congratulations. That poster really is stunning.

Thanks Rosa!

Sorry Steve. Silly comment alert, but hey... What do you expect...I love that polka dot dress. And the poster is mighty nice, but I take the dress. I have a simila one indeed..there you go...
Are you going to display them at home? Congratulations.
-
Polka dot dresses are nice thumbsup.gif
I would like to display my advertising posters at home some time for sure... I have too many posters!
-
Great graphic posters!
Love the Gevaert poster , one remark the Gevaert film is a Belgian company (now multinational Agfa -Gevaert) , so not sure if it's a Swiss version/poster, but that doesn't make any difference being stunning ...anyway...just some patriotism...
Yes, Donald Brun is a Swiss artist but he made some nice designs for other Belgian companies as well.
I have at least one laying around here for an Antwerp boating company.
If you are into those French sixties poster you should check this auction, runs for another day. And they mostly sell very cheap. Posting is in French so if you have troubles reading /translating let me know .

This one would match nicely next to that polka dotted dress ....

Thanks Joemustang65, do you collect these 50s and 60s style?
-
No not really.
I still have a weak for older stuff, Belle Époque , Art Deco and they fit better with the house interior .
The holiday house in Ostend is dated 1902 .....
But there is one I want to add to the collection for a long time
Sorry best picture I could find on the net
A bar in Ostend called Lafeyette (favorite pub off Marvin Gaye) has a big version of this one, on the wall but the boss is not willing to sell nor trade...unfortunately ...

This is the Donald Brun poster I was talking about
Not as nice as the Gevaert poster ..... (http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160203/bd57ffe9ff78934aea9ef8deb9f99672.jpg)

Yeah, Donald Brun created many posters. I like the shipping poster however the Stella Artois poster is right in line with the posters I most like. Hope you find one!
Here are a few more:...

Nice, Steve!! Those all look great and do the colors pop!
Beautious!! thumbsup.gif
Are any of those backed? Or are they all au naturale?
-
Hi Jeff, they are all backed... hardly an issue in the advertising poster world compared to the movie poster world!
That last poster Vichy is my favourite of all the combined advertising and movie posters I own. That format would look great in a frame above a lounge on a big wall, because it is narrow in height.
-
Love 'em, Steve. And all such a great size, too... thumbup
-
Nice pickups. thumbup
Really like the one for Vichy. Do you know what year it's from?

Not sure... In my notes I have it as 1960's but it looks more 1970's

Cool. It definitely has the vibe from that time. cool1

Nice stuff Steve!
And what a long way to go from this to yours ....(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160204/44063b4d380d5e2a98d3148dcf4c5129.jpg)

^ haha yes mine is truely recent compared you yours. Nice poster and no doubt a lot easier to display!
-
The Vichy poster is not mine (which it was) , it's a picture I found while searching my data to pinpoint a date on yours but can't find an exact date either...
-
Just read the last couple of posts today. Really good posters.

Steve, did you stand on a chair or ladder to get these direct overhead shots? Ive tried a stool, but sometimes I still havent been high enough to get the whole poster image captured.
-
For Thierry hates "French Grande" size I just stand there with my arm and camera way above my head and probably take about 10 shots as some will be crooked but for 4F size and bigger (3 sht, 6 sht) I stand on a chair, usually a swivel and tilt office chair which is a bit dangerous!
-
I've never held my camera over my head, while on the stool. I think that would have me potentially falling over, mid pic-snap!
I might have to give it a go, tho.
-
I do the same thing when taking pics of large posters, you need to be a good guesser...
-
My travel posters are spread in some other threads, so bringing them together here in this thread. They are 25" x 40".

I was reminded today because Heritage sold the TWA New York for 20x what I did back in 2006 and theirs had key parts repainted (yet called it very fine - another subject...), where mine's perfect :)
There are other versions as per below, but the 2nd one is I think the most appealing:

The poster that got me into the hobby was this one, my first poster. I was having an 80's music party and wanted some decorations, so looked up on eBay for posters. This apparently went into bus shelters (42" x 62"). The blue colour really popped, and I was hooked.

Awesome!!!! I want it!!!! I was there. I was young, but I was there and it was awesome.
