We're close to exceeding our storage limitations on attachments. In order to keep us going, we need to start shifting to having the images hosted elsewhere, such as photobucket (which is what I use). When posting, you can insert a link to the offsite image and it'll work just find.
We're coming up on 400mb of space used, and our limit is 500mb without incurring additional costs for storage space. I'd like to avoid hitting that limit by starting now to have all posted images linked to offsite storage of those images.
To help us stay in bounds, I've reduced the limit to the size of each individual image to 500KB, and the max upload per post to 1MB. If you must post to the site the images you're using, you'll have to resize them to stay within these limits. Of course, if you use offsite storage, then there is no size limit other than what you face with the hosting site.
Thanks for helping us keep up and running. Post any questions you have about this here.

Just create a tumblr account and post a link to that as well. I have never had any problems with photobucket.
-
I've used photobucket for years and years but when they made changes a year or so ago I find it much harder and messier.
-
I think it is a bit messy and it crashes my laptop ...it takes up a lot of memory. But that perhaps says more about my crappy computer than Photobucket. ....

Photobucket has become a real pain in the buttocks.
Apparently, if you have a yahoo account you already have a flicker account in waiting.
Works a heckuva lot better than the bucket and I intend to transfer all of my images there.

The above link is to a page, you need to link to the image not the page. Right click on the image to grab the image link. Like this (click Quote link above to view the code to use):
Hope that helps

Thanks! Yes I see now. I'm posting from my iPhone. Any other advice or short cuts I should know

Uploaded, digital image width should also be kept to a maximum of 800, when posting it to the forum. :)
In the image brackets, it would look like this, with the added width size limit: [img width=800]
This way, an entire image fit comfortably on the screen without having to scroll back and forth or up and down in order to see parts of the poster.
And when pic files are too large, they also take longer to load, especially if multiple images are together in one post.
