He was maybe the most productive poster artist in Germany. Could be, I have about 200 by him, although he is not among my Top 5. Some posters I like a lot, some not that much - someone told me once that Goetze sometimes had a glass to many and then got a little lazy, I don't know for sure of course.

That landscape format Hatari is really nice, Mike.
Is it a lot more uncommon to find German posters printed in that style?

(46x33 inch) double panels / quads or: Din A0 quer (118x84cm). Yes they are much harder to find. Printed in smaller numbers, and not for every title of course. Of some of the really good ones only 10-20 have survived, of some are less than 10 known to still exist (REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE, TO CATCH A THIEF for instance. Beyond $3000-4000...)

The guy even did a second double panel, also first release.

Yes, me too. Stewart don't look to great but overall a powerful poster, looks much better in front of you.
three nice 60s re-releases:

Nice RR, there, Mike, but I think Goetze made James Dean look a little too old on this poster. His face almost looks more middle age, to me, in some ways.
Tho this has been done on other RR posters we have all seen, too. One that comes to mind is Casablanca (i dont recall from which country) where Ingrid Bergman was depicted as a more mature looking woman.

Well like I wrote before, Goetze is not really my favorite. Especially because of (some) faces and the many lesser artwork he did - I suppose mainly due to the enormous amount posters he painted (and a little sip here and there as someone told me years ago).
Here are some I don't quite like. SEARCHES RR A0 with HONDO artwork...

Outstanding examples, Peckinpah! Some movies now I want to see based on the fabulous art. Okie

Yes, very good ones... and here are a few of his "lazy" ones for good measure ;D
No time (or budget?) for colors...

Interesting to see a beautiful Doris Day image on a poster where she seems concerned rather than smiling or kissing. Thanks for sharing, Peckinpah! Okie

I'll post another DORIS-not-smiling in the Klaus Dill thread :).
