Title: How to find the artist and style of a poster
Post by: DarianCastle on March 09, 2017, 09:29:24 PM
Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a site or resource that archives movie posters (70s to 90s) and collects info on them such and year, artist, region and styles of the poster. I want to make a updated video of my poster collection but i also want to display pertinent information for the poster. I've not come across anything like this yet. Emovieposters.com is a good resource but it doesn't state the artist or other styles as far as i see anywhere.

These are my past videos to give you an idea of what i'm doing. I hope my third and other videos to follow will get better and better:

POSTER COLLECTION 1/2

POSTER COLLECTION 2/2

Any tips appreciated
D.

Darian, many US poster artists are unknown. Which is a real shame as it would be great to know whose hand created many of the memorable works, that's for sure.

And when you say region, are you meaning country of origin?

A good number of sites including HA, MPB and MPE mention a poster's country of origin, so you should be good to go there.
