Hi,
I want to introduce myself to this forum. I am rocky. Does anyone know how to date an original Bull Durham tobacco poster? It does not have a date on it. The size is 17 3/4" x 25 3/4" and it is on card stock. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
rocky

welcome1, to the forum, rocky.
Were you wanting to know the date of both posters you're showing?

Hi Rocky, Welcome. I remember reading several years ago about these posters having been bootlegged/reproduced. I'm not saying your copies are reproductions, though I think you are wise to ask the question. I've seen what look like reproductions of these posters semi-frequently in antique stores. My best, Okie

Yes, I know there are a lot of reproductions in these particular posters but yet I see some for sale as originals. In there descriptions they are dated. So my question is how do you tell if they are original & what year they were made being that there are no dates on them that I can see.
Thanks,
rocky

Here's another, also printed on card stock and with your same dimensions:

Looks like repros were also printed on poster paper and were sometimes a larger size, too.
