Since I had the day off I decided to drive up to Salem, MA and check out the "It's Alive" exhibit of posters and collectables from the collection of Kirk Hammett at the Peabody Essex Museum. Shot some crappy cell phone pics:

The Mummy 3-sheet is a killer. Words and reproductions will not do it justice.

Thing has to be 10 feet tall.

And they have a exhibit catalog:

They had a bunch of other stuff like toys and musical instruments and a stunning large format painting of Bela Lugosi (photo came out crappy). If you are in the area, I suggest you go see it.

Great shots, Louie. clap clap clap
This is one collection I'd really like to be able to see one day, too.
-
Thanks Louie. I've been thinking of driving out to MA to check this out, and those pics really made me want to go.

Just be aware that admission to the museum is $20, but the exhibition catalog is only $30 and it's a hardcover.
-
Thanks for the heads up, I have already ordered the catalog online, should be arriving today.
-
Very cool shot here, Louie. thumbsup.gif

Spot on.
-
Very cool. Thank you Lou
-
I'll also say, this is one of the few museum shows I have been at where there are signs around the gallery ENCOURAGING people to take photos of the exhibit.
-
Thanks for sharing the pics - absolutely fantastic to see them all framed and up on a wall.
I don't recall seeing the other style Bride of Frankenstein as part of his collection - I don't have the book in front of my but was it shown in Too Much Horror Business?
-
Maybe it's a more recent purchase, since he did his book? hmmm.gif
-
As others have already said, thank you so much for sharing Louie! Absolutely great stuff! I wish I lived up that way...

For my money the best poster in the whole show. It's really incredible.
-
Oh to be able to buy whatever you want
-
Surprising that the Mummy three sheet doesn't appear to be backed...

And if not backed, so much the better! thumbsup.gif
Maybe Kirk knew better.

They are both pictured in the book, but they are smaller photos.
The Mummy 3-sheet is not backed and as others have said, it absolutely has to be seen in person to be appreciated. it's amazing.
