What a way to start off the new year.
Beautiful!

Also on the James Bond thread for purposes of completion, but here for January.
This one is for the rarity file and precious little else.
Made known to me via cabmanray many years ago, I have never seen one for sale and aside from the aforementioned chap, never known anyone else who owns one either.
In terrible condition; seam separation, water marks, edge creasing, paper loss and perhaps even fading, and on the most brittle and what must have been the cheapest paper made available to the military, since perhaps all other available funds were put towards tanks and K Rations, one Military From Russia with Love 1 sheet.
I currently know only of two other Bond films for which posters were 'designed' and issued to the military; Dr No and Thunderball, both of which are far more commonly known and available.
Anyway, am not sure this will elicit much in the way of discussion so perhaps this serves only to prove I am still alive and up for contributing where possible.

Bellisima! Losing AK and Sue Lyon last year has really made the ticking of the ol' clock seem just that much louder.
-
I saw that one – glad you got it!

4 recent acquisitions, all 1960s Italian posters (including 2 Hammer films).
-
Really like that Mummy, Antoine! Okie
-
Those are all great Antoine!
-
Very nice Antoine! I've been trying to get that Italian 4F for The Mummy for a while. Maybe next time ;D
-
Thank you guys! I’m really digging those 1960s Italian posters lately, they’re so colorful and pulpy!
-
I really love them too, except for the quality of the paper.

Beauty of a new release.

Now that is a modern poster that I would like to obtain.
-
Courtesy of emp, a recent addition to complete the lobby card set for The Saint in New York.
Bottom right and suffering from the odd pinhole, this completes another set of, for the nine films, 10 sets. (Saint's Girl Friday had two sets, a less commonly known Red titled set for Canada as well as the Yellow titled one for the US)
Now needed, one card each from Double Trouble and London, and two from Palm Springs.

Happy hunting, Simes! Nice completion, too! Okie

Ah, the life of a completist.
The best.

Well done, Simon, congrats on completing that set!
-
Speaking of Simes, thanks to his assistance, I just received my winning lot from Ewbanks' latest vintage poster auction: 2 Hammer quads combined in one single lot, my favorite being The Witches, a not-so-great flick released in the States as The Devil's Own.

Haven’t been in the game for a bit. But slowly coming back... just got this one last week..
-
I love that poster. Brings back many happy memories are visiting as many video shops in my local area as I could to find posters. Warners used to make these long posters for some or their releases. I think they also did a long poster for part 3 but never managed to get one. Congrats on this one!

Fun with fingers, eh Big Mike! What are the dimensions on the Nightmare 2? Cool size. Okie
-
The poster measures approx 18”x60”.. it was the first time seeing on of these posters. Had to pick it up.

Wow, could hang that on a door and enjoy! Okie

Even though everything is on my website and it can be somewhat redundant, I'll try to post some stuff on here from time to time...
Just got these 2 quads. Nothing out of this world, but I'm always happy to add to my Bardot collection. Now 513 pieces :)

Two old school "X"s, eh T?! Oh, how the "X" has changed...
Okie

These might need to go into a Feb thread, if previous form is to be observed.
Or, just one Recent Acquisitions thread to cover all needs.

Your budgie seems to like the poster as well

she will be hurt by that, being a canary thumbup

A couple of different type of posters for me I've just picked up, both Bond:
Licence To Kill - Jap B2 - This is the first Jap poster I've ever bought, massive fan of the two Dalton Bond films, probably in the minority here but I've always felt Dalton was highly underrated in the role and his two films
(for me) are two of the best in the whole Bond series.
TMWTGG (Guinness) - This one is certainly different and is probably as much a Guinness poster as it is Bond, it's basically a Guinness/Bond tie-in poster, as can be seen it uses most of the same fantastic art work from the
UK Quad poster but cleverly adds in a Guinness theme to the artwork.
-
Congrats on the Guinness Golden Gun poster. Looks to be in top shape.
Took me a while to find this, at a reasonable price.

Appreciate that Simes, thank you!
It's certainly a cracking little unique poster for sure, as for the condition it's probably one of the best posters I have in my collection condition-wise, was very happy to find it.

Yes, cool Guinness poster, John! Hey, from what show is your avatar? And, "yes" I believe it is an avatar and not an actual picture of you! Okie

Cheers! Okie.
The avatar picture is certainly not me ;D it's the late actor Jon Pertwee, the picture of him here is from the film "Carry On Screaming" he was in a few Carry On films in minor but memorable roles, but he's probably best known in the UK for playing Doctor Who & Worzel Gummidge.

Ah, makes sense with your "Carry On" poster search, John! I have to admit, I'm very glad you said Dr. Who as I had no idea on who is Wurzel Gummidge without the help of the internet. My best, Okie

What’s « Carry On » posters?
T
Carry On posters are posters for the Carry On film series, the Carry On's are a British comedy film series, the first one Carry On Sergeant was released in 1958 and the last one Carry On Columbus in 1992.
Some of the best and most collectable Carry On posters had artwork done by Tom Chantrell.

There's some great art on the UK Quads for some of the carry On films T.
Check out Carry on Jack, Carry on Screaming and Carry on Cleo (recalled because of the similarity to the Burton/Taylor flick Cleopatra). These are probably the best of the bunch in my opinion.
Carry on Cowboy & Carry on Spying aren't too shabby either.

Good picks all those ones Marc, I'd also add the Carry On Cabby Quad to the list as well ;)
-
Agreed John, just looked up the image of Cabby and that's a nice one as well.
I don't collect Carry on posters but it seems Cabby is a rare one as well?
I see a London dealer claiming it's one of the rarest out there. Is that true? It's priced at over 4K :o

The Cabby UK quad was the last Carry On poster I picked up, I have it posted on these forums, it's considered the second rarest Quad in the series only behind the pulled/banned Cleo Quad.
I think I know the dealer you mention, (atthemovies by any chance?) from experience I think they always go over the top with their prices, I've never bought from them myself but have checked out their site from time to time, maybe they get away with their prices as they are located right in the heart of London? your guess is as good as mine ;)
As for the price, most places when they have one have it around the £3000 range nowadays.
