Title: What Happens When the Top Bidders Gets Their Casablanca
Post by: MoviePosterBid.com on July 27, 2019, 04:59:25 PM
watching Heritage today of course and the best examples of what happens when the top bidder gets his fix.

we all know the Casablanca stuff has been nuts, largely due to a couple of bidders, both of whom are clearly phenomenally rich. But it's also highlighting that once the top bidder gets his item, the price drop precipitously

Today there was one item that appears to have crashed in value - the Spanish passport style heralds.

when HA sold the first pair, last year, they achieved a whopping $7800.00, which has to be a record for any Spanish herald

today, they sold another pair , which garnered a single bid for opening price & with BP comes to just $600.00

it pays to be first

by contrast, the 12 keybook photos for Ilsa's makeup & costume drove up to $72,000.00 with BP

it also pays to be rich!

Hi Richie,
I don't know what to say after the photobusta blew up, except are the posters behind the auctioneer larger blown up copies?  They seem huge compared to the auctioneer.  Okie

Interesting.  And insane.

When you say it pays to be first, do you mean it pays the seller for the first round sales?

in the current market, as especially pertains to Casablanca, due to the 'sky is the limit bidding', you have to be the first person to consign a particular size to get that price. Once the top bidder gets his item, which is almost certainly the first time, due to his wealth, the price goes way down, because the underbidder only has to bid against the third bidder, whose interest in generally, at a lower price point, if you look at & track the prices.

Patience is good for the buyer when money is crazy, though not good for seller, eh Richie?!  Okie
