Title: December 2015
Post by: DekeThornton on December 02, 2015, 02:49:25 AM
I am in love with this Mexican propaganda poster from just after the conclusion of WWII. And it arrived in a frame which I wasn't even expecting!  I opened it up and sure enough everything is kosher and it was framed with archival mat and backing board. I will need to replace the glass with plexi though. I am fortunate the glass didn't break in shipping but all's well that ends well.

Got this 1968 Mexico City Olympics poster too (couldn't fit the whole thing in the frame), printed with dayglo inks.

2 beauties, Deke.

And a good call on swapping the glass for plexi. Better for poster paper, in that it wont retain heat and moisture like the glass will do. Let alone it being lighter weight and potentially causing less damage, were the frame to accidentally fall and hit the floor.

Congrats again.  thumbsup.gif

I have quite a big circus poster collection, mostly Boris Grinsson art for circus Pinder

This is the main poster I wanted from this batch of circus posters all bought in the same auction.
I saw this poster quite some years back and I remember it in a similar condition. This could probably be the same. I didn't get it at the time as I was outbid, and I bid a fair bit. This time it wasn't going to slip by as I haven't seen it since.

This one I got because it shows some unusual circus activity in a poster

I love the last 2 Grinssons.  If I collected circus posters, I'd be super jealous.

Thanks everyone, the 2  above look great with nice colours and printed in stone lithography(?) I have no idea how old they are. Yes I guess the circus motorcycles could be hard to find similar, I can't think of any. I wonder if a person really supported a wheel with a motorbike going around in it. Some of these Circus performers had tough jobs!
