Does anyone have a definitive list of Portal Publications reprints from the 60s & 70s?  I come across these quite often when searching for old posters.  A few ways to tell they are reprints is:

A) The size is off… they are usually reprints of 1-sheets (accept the Wizard of Oz 1/2 sheets) which should be 27”x41”.  Instead the Portal reprints are usually roughly 20”x30”.
B) They usually say “Portal  Publications, Sausalito, Calf. 94965.”  Zipcodes weren’t used until 1963 so clearly these were printed after this time.

I can start with a few I've seen on eBay or elsewhere...

Adventures of Robin Hood (1938)
African Queen, The (1950) 20” x 28”
Dracula (1931) 21" x 29"
Frankenstein (1931) 21" x 29"
Gay Divorcee, The (1934) 20" x 28"
Gone with the Wind (1939)
King Kong (1933) 21" x 29"
Little Colonel, The (1936) 19” x 29”
March of the Wooden Soldier (1934)
Morocco (1930)
My Little Chickadee (1940) 20” x 28”
Thief of Bagdad, The (1924)
Wizard of Oz, The (1939) Style A 20” x 28”
Wizard of Oz, The (1939) Style B 20” x 28”

Watch out, the last two can be tricky as they are so close to the size of an original half sheet.

Hey, Harry.  There is also a THIEF OF BAGDAD (1924 Douglas Fairbanks winged horse version) poster in this Portal series. I believe there might also be one each for the 1938 ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD and the 1934 MARCH OF THE WOODEN SOLDIERS.

Thanks Brude.  I modified the list above to include those three.  I envisioned this as a list I could update over time.  However, I just remembered that I can only edit my posts for a few hours before they are locked.  Sad

True, but you can copy the original, add to it or modify it, and then delete the original. At least I think you can!

I was looking for another thread where we mentioned Portal posters, but this will do. I must of missed this one, it does give Harry a chance to update though, as he also missed off the 1934 Black Cat, and the 1932 Mummy.

Anyway on the thread I was looking for, I said I had a Creature from the Black lagoon Portal poster, I couldn't find. Well...

So that make's three to add to the list Harry.  Smiley

I'm sure there was also the 1933 Invisible Man, but don't quote me on that one.

Was this thread started because someone bought a Repro thinking it was a genuine poster?? or was it Mel's Casablanca 1/2 sheet query?

Speaking of Portal Publications, I have this 20x28 from 1986.  I thought they had thrown in the towel by the 80s, but I guess I was wrong...
