Upcoming theatrical re-releases
« on: June 21, 2015, 02:02:44 AM »
I just posted this as a part of a response to the "Frankenstein"/"Bride of Frankenstein" thread, but I thought others might miss it and be interested to know about these other "one night only" (well, it's really TWO nights...but that's not how they bill these events) classic movie re-releases on the big screen:

...The next one is the 40th anniversary of "JAWS" this Sunday (June 21st) and Wednesday (June 23). It would be great to see that on the big screen again.

Other upcoming showings are "Sharknado 2" (with RiffTraxx) (July 9th and 16th), "Double Indemnity" (July 19 and 20), there's a "Grease" sing-a-long Aug. 16 & 19, "Psycho" Sept 20 & 23 and, for Halloween, they are showing the original Bela Lugosi "Dracula" with the filmed-at-the-same-time Spanish language "Dracula" (yes, the original and it's concurrent remake on a double bill) on October 25 & 28.

A few others include "Roman Holiday" Nov. 29 and Dec. 1, "Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny" (with RiffTraxx) Dec. 3 and 15, and "Miracle on 34th Street" Dec. 20 & 23.

They do posters for SOME of their showings, but not many. I have one from a "Halloween" 4 & 5 double feature they did once and a "Wizard of Oz" poster they did--and the RiffTraxx version of the original "Sharknado". They're hard to find. I've only seen a few pop up now and again. Alas they did NOT do a poster for "Jaws". I'm not sure about the "Frankenstein" double feature..
