Zowie! You are so correct. Amsel DID do the re-release. My confusion of course is because Struzan did the posters for the sequels. I blame this temporary confusion on the stress from the move, work and being so sick for so long. :) Glad you like the FREAKS and BARN OF THE NAKED DEAD though.

Oh my stars! The move drags on... I brought another load over tonight. ARGH! There are still MORE poster tubes over there and MORE framed posters. I have TOO MANY POSTERS! I have no idea where I'm going to stash them all. The hall closet as well as the poster room closet are FULL of tubes. The other bedroom closets have framed posters in them---and there's no room for anything else. And let me say it now---i HATE rolled posters. Not only do the tubes take up so much room---but I was trying to go through some and consolidate them...and they are impossible to work with. GRRR. Remind me to never buy any more rolled posters. I prefer folded (for storage convenience).

Here's tonight's haul of framed posters I brought home:

Damn. more framed goodness.
With so many posters framed, have you ever had that many on the walls at once?

If Shawn had, he would have given Melvin a run for his money. ;D

TED: Glad you appreciate the videos. Not many people are bothering to watch them. That's okay. I have a lot of crap--too much crap. And to answer your question, I have more than 200 framed posters....that mostly sit in the closet. At most in this house I've ever had up at one time is about 48 (I just did a quick count of space). I can't put them in the guest bathroom any more as there is now a shower in there (Before it just had a bathtub)....but to make up for it, ironically I never had posters in what I now call the poster room (before, my mom was storing all of my grandmother's stuff in the garage---so in lieu of a garage, i used the poster room as my storage. I now have the garage back too). I could fit 9 in here. But will i re-hang them? My plan is to only be here two years and then sell and move away. So no, I probably will NOT hang them up while I'm here.

JEFF: Who is Melvin?

Here is the conclusion of Box 3:

I know I dont respond VERY often, mainly because I dont have so muchj time these days, but I always look, and I am always SO IMPRESSED, seriosuly wqe have the same taste.
I used to collect like you, basically ANYTHING that I remotely liked for whatever reason.
I cant/dont/wont anymore, I am more focused (too many posters, too few $/time/space)

BUT I really love your posters, taste, style.

And the videos are really fun.

OK, thats enough, you know I am a MaGG fan, so please carry on with whatever you were doing.

Hi ARI: Thank you for the note. I was not basing my assessment that a lot of people were not bothering to watch the videos based on lack of feedback on here. I am aware that people are busy, or can be shy or are just lurking--or whatever. That is okay. I had been doing this hobby all alone for nearly 40 years before I discovered APF.

What I had been basing it on was the viewership analysis log (or whatever it is called) on YouTube. I'd been checking that out since I started. The videos, while easier than posting photos, are still a pain to make---and they require a time commitment from the viewer. I looked at the views to gauge whether or not to continue the videos. While some have double digit views (Ooooo...11, 12, 15!), most languish with single digit views (1, 2, 4, ....0).

I'll continue to make them if only a handful of people (or even just one person) continues to bother to watching. While I'll still post my new acquisitions with photos, I have too much old stuff to do it any other way than video,

And yes Ari--we do have the same taste. That is why early on you became one of my favorites.

Mel was a former member who utilized huge amounts of his available wall space to hang his framed posters, in many cases side by side, in rows.

Unfortunately, when he left the forum, he took down his photo sharing/hosted album, so his posters and display options can no longer be seen here.

JEFF: That must be the "Dread Pirate Mel" I've seen on the boards. Too bad he removed all of his photos.

TED: I'm glad you like the videos. Below you will find the LAST of my framed posters. I don't know exactly what happened, but halfway through it, it stopped. So I just picked up where I left off. I was going to try and edit it--bit I could not find any editing software on my computer...so I just uploaded it in two parts. They are below.

STEVE: Not a problem. Thanks for the interest. I'll post them all below.

Here are the two parts of the video for the last framed posters:

Thanks for the links MAGG. Rocky Horror posters I can see were cool posters to start your collection with. Liking most Trader Hornee and Disaster. Good hearing your thoughts on each movie

Don't O.D. should you chose to watch them all. Watch only one or two at a time. I get bored watching them.

Yes, the ROCKY HORRORS were cool for me to have (I'd say posters #6 & 7?) as is TRADER HORNEE.

Thanks for watching.

Off to bed for me. I work tomorrow (just until 2 pm--I have a class and am NOT on the floor).

Cheers!

PS

As for DISASTER, here is the one sheet I originally found years ago at that swap meet at the naval base on Alameda.

Also (just because it was in the same chunks of protective cardboard), I have this unusual poster thing for ROLLERCOASTER. This is art that was NOT used for either style of the one sheet (although it was used for the novelization cover). It's bigger than a lobby card but smaller than a half sheet. I'm guessing it was some sort of promotional poster for early in the production? I don't know. Whatever...

Good night

STEVE: I'm glad you appreciated the DISASTER half sheet. I've never seen another.

Below is another (short) video. It's an addendum to the framed poster videos. Ooooo i couldn't wait to show you.

Here it is:

Really digging the videos!

The Man Who Cried Wolf is the standout for me on that last one.. never heard of the film, but that poster is gorgeous.

You really do have one of the most eclectic collections I've seen. Keep on, keeping on! :)

I know my videos are not that popular (the last one only had 6 views. There's another with only 3 views). That's okay. I don't really expect anyone who isn't really interested/curious to watch them. I started exploring my 4th box of posters. Here is the 1st video:

http://www.youtube.com/v/GxV1XQVPXlQ

There's some stuff I didn't even know I had, but also some stuff I've shared on my thread early on. I'm guessing the deeper I go into the box the more stuff that is NOT on my thread will surface.

If the videos are not your cup of tea, i'll be back on the 15th with my regular posting of new acquisitions in traditional photo format.

I hope all is groovy.

Cha Cha Cha!

The videos are just for the boxes and tubes. Once I wade through all of the long-stored posters, I'll avoid the video. I'll still do my new stuff with just pictures like always (next one is Friday). Thanks for your honesty SKYJACKERS.

The videos are great. Your knowledge in movies is amazing MAGG and your reactions to finding some of your own posters is pretty amusing! I`m going to post a video one of these days too.
