STEVE: Hi there. These posts are NOT of new purchases. I'm just finally getting a chance to go through my boxes and boxes of posters from my 40 years of poster collecting. This is all stuff I've had pre-APF. As for the videos, boobies? Maybe. There's some exploitation stuff in there here and there.  No big deal if you don't get a chance to watch them.

TED: Thanks for the words of encouragement. The video process still takes a long time--but not nearly as long as individual photos take. I'm still under the weather. At least this is something i can do...since I don't feel like doing much (except sleeping).

Next part of the 2nd box (getting almost to the half way point...jinkies you can get a lot of folded posters in a box!). There are a few surprises, a few duplicates (not so surprising) and more of my annoying sick voice.

Watch or don't.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/p0FRotJOTL4" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/p0FRotJOTL4</a>

It will be ready in about 45 minutes.

DAUGHTERS OF SATAN AND SUPERBEAST

Awesome poster.  Too bad you dont have multiple copies of that one instead of Black Cauldron!
Love the videos Magg, much appreciated. :)

Nice buncha posters.
Were most of these boxed posters ebay purchases?

Cool vids, Shawn. And a much better way to show off the boxes of poster goodness you have by sliding one over the other as you give little verbal blurbs about each.

Nice job!

CRAZY VICK: Glad you liked the videos AND the DAUGHTERS OF SATAN and SUPERBEAST combo poster. What is up with my multiple copies of THE BLACK CAULDRON? i've never seen the movie and didn't know I had the poster...and now I discover I have at least TWO copies of it. Ha! Some things i remember getting---others I don't...and i just keep RE-BUYING them. ARGH!

TED: Glad you also like the posters. As to whether or not they are mostly eBay purchases, that's hard to say. The ones I say were my first 10 or 20 posters...those were purchased long before eBay existed. Emovie started its internet presence on eBay and Heritage has had auctions on eBay for a while now--still to this day. But yes, I guess you could say that "most" of them were from ebay.

JEFF:  Oooo...almost didn't see your note in time before posting this. Thanks. Just sharing the boxes is a chore...but it SEEMS to work the way i have been doing it. I just worry about damaging the posters this way. So far so good, but....

Here is the latest video update of what's in my boxes. We are STILL working our way through Box 2. It's taking forever. Once i finally finish Box 2, i think I'll take a break and finish up other pressing stuff (like the move and life in general). I've been under the weather and out of commission so I've not felt like doing much else. But now that I'm perking up again--I gotta do other stuff. I WILL continue these at some point though (and there will be at least one more video for Box 2 after this).

It should be ready in about 45 minutes from now...

The Horror of Party Beach holds special memories for me.
If you find another copy in the piles, send me a PM.
 cheers

Special request: Please do another personalized video while flipping through those 200 framed posters.
That would be very cool.

TED: I don't think I have another HORROR OF PARTY BEACH one sheet...but then I didn't know I had this one either. I feel have the one sheet where it is part of a double feature combo though...or maybe that's just what I thought I had and am completely mixed up. Sty tuned, i guess, and see...

As for a video with the framed posters....hmm. Sounds like even MORE hassle. About half of them...maybe a little more...are still at the Shack-0-Rama. Let me get them all back over here and do some repairs (I've had a few fall apart on me in transport) and switch some things out...and, yes, maybe I'll do it. It would be better than the old video I made from years ago.  But give me a while...

And now, here is the LAST of the posters in Box 2. Jinkies, it took forever to get through.  (Give it about 30 minutes or so to finish uploading/processing)

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/k08QL8e7GsE" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/k08QL8e7GsE</a>

Watch it or don't.

I'll be back on the 1st with my regular posting of new acquisitions (which are really older...held back from August) with photos instead of video.

Just for you, Ted (because you asked)...here is the first video of my framed posters. These are just posters I have moved over so far and stored in the guest bedroom closets. The ones in the poster room are a bit hard to get to as they are wedged in between the wall and the desk. I'll get to those eventually though...as well as all of the others once I get them moved.  For now, I hope these work for you.

Outstanding, Shawn!
Thanks for giving us a peek at those beauties.

At 2:50, you show a double-bill one sheet for The Devil's Nightmare/ The Devil's Garden.
The artwork looked familiar.
Ahh... here is where I saw it.

Its a 1976 German gig poster, with art by Günther Kieser.
A former APF member (Daniel) has an ultra-rare original for sale here: https://illustractiongallery.com/rock/who-german-tour-1976--signed-.html

I was gonna post it in the 'stolen art' thread, but mention made here is fine.

Question: is that Evil Dead unfolded? Sure looks like it.  Don't think I've ever seen one rolled.
Good job, man!

Hi TED:

I had also seen that devil's head image around before as well...Not just advertising The Who concert. It does help make that double feature poster pop though.  If I can get my butt over to the shack-a-rama before it gets too late, I'll try to get another load of the framed posters over here and make a part 2 video.

No--the EVIL DEAD is folded (well, WAS folded. You know what I mean). I wish it had been rolled, but...

Where the hell am I going to store everything? Argh! Too many frames....

Thanks for looking.

Cheers!

Any (and all) overflow can be securely shipped to me here in the Adirondacks.
They will be safe.
You can start with the GHOST OF FRANKENSTEIN and HORROR OF PARTY BEACH.
Just send me tracking info so I can clear the bears outta the yard before the postal lady gets here.

TED: I don't think I'll be parting with THE GHOST OF FRANKENSTEIN or HORROR OF PARTY BEACH any time soon. Ha! But thanks for the generous offer.

I never got to the shack-a-rama today. I'm feeling much better today, but still super tired. So I dug out all of the framed posters in the poster room and did a video with them. Some of my most-prized posters (and some tacky crap as well. Ha!) are in this lot (well--before i moved to the shack-a-rama anyway). The video is below (and it's still loading/processing. So be patient please... About 40 minutes left to go-go).

I'll do a video of the rest of my framed posters as i get them moved over. There are just two framed posters here I have not shared yet...because they have framing issues at the moment I need to address.  I'll swap out some of the "lesser" posters for some of my newer acquisitions (my 1956 KING KONG for example, BLOOD FEAST, BEACH PARTY, WAR OF THE COLOSSAL BEAST, ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE, etc. etc. etc.) after I do videos of the framed posters as they are now. I'll share the newly framed posters afterwards.

Here is the video of my second batch of framed posters:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/HHezsMECl9c" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/HHezsMECl9c</a>

Watch it or don't (but let it load first...still got about 30 minutes to go...)

Thanks for bothering to look.

Hi there. Just heading to bed (it's 1 a/.m.  i got up at 5 a.m. for work today. I'm tired...).

I made another video peek into Box 3.  The link is below:

BIG BOSS: I'm glad you are delighted with the videos. Knock yourself out and watch 'em all as you say you want to.,,,as not many people have bothered. (Why would they, really...)

Zowie, TED. What kind words. Thank you so much. I'm glad you like my collection (or at least what I've unearthed so far). But you still aren't getting my GHOST OF FRANKENSTEIN or HORROR OF PARTY BEACH.   ;)

JEFF: You are right---i MIGHT have to change my name. Ha!  CHEERS!

Good morning....groan. I'm up/awake. (Well, one eye is open).  Stupid me stayed up until 2:30 a.m.  Why? So I could get another video done and bust through this 3rd box (and the whole project) faster. I want to be done.

There were several little gems in this one---thank goodness. The last video was particularly dull..but this one got my heart a flutterin a bit. Ooooo. I was surprised by some things I found. Nothing major...but...

Tourist Trap and Terror Is a Man are two favorites of mine from years gone by.
Well done, man -- you are my new personal hero.

Now, where can I find a copy of Red Riding Hood and the Monsters?

Hey there. I got another batch of framed posters home today. Still a LOT over there to bring back. There is a video of my 3rd set of framed posters below. These are clearly not my favorites. There are several I've already mentally removed from their frames. I'll do some changing out later (in a few weeks).

TED: I am glad TOURIST TRAP and TERROR IS A MAN appealed to you. Cut me some slack on RED RIDING HOOD AND THE MONSTERS. It's a kiddie matinee AND it has monsters.

Okay--here's the video of the framed posters I brought home today...

Prepare to be scared? Scared of the thread-bare pickings this month is more like it. Waaaagh! Actually--it's NOT as bad as my last new acq post--by a long shot. In fact, it's got some great stuff in it towards the end. (All purchased back in August before i was uber-broke). Oh well. It is what it is...  But this is NEW STUFF you have not seen before--NOT more of the stuff in my boxes.

Let's take a look...

THE SHOEMAKER AND THE ELVES:

You may recall i have a penchant for old kiddie matinee posters. Normally something this bottom of the barrel-looking I'd have passed on. But it's so bad looking, i went for it. It was not that expensive any way. Another K. Gordon Murray crap classics. I'm sure it's AWFUL.

SNOW WHITE AND ROSE RED and THE BIG BAD WOLF (combo):

I think with this poster I have pretty much collected all of the Childhood Productions kiddie matinee posters (that I'm aware of any way). I already had one of these but needed a better copy as the other one has a nasty piece of masking tape on the front. I've never seen either film, but have seen excerpts from SNOW WHITE AND ROSE RED. UGH!  I can't imagine any poor child being forced to endure this crap. Ha!

THE CURIOUS FEMALE:

I've never seen this, but was stunned that this pre-porn x-rated nudie from the late 60s starred ANGELIQUE PETTYJOHN. Pettyjohn was in a handful of TV shows and movies, most notably as a silver bikini-clad alien amazon warrior woman on the original STAR TREK. This was too interesting (at the time. Now, I'm not so sure...) to pass up. As the tag line reads, No one knows what troubles virgins have...  Oh my! Isn't this out on Something Weird video?

THE RAINS OF RANCHIPUR:

I was super excited to see this come up and got it...only to realize, DUH!  The movie I was trying to remember (that I mistook this for) was THE RAINS CAME. ARGH!  but it was an easy mistake as RAINS OF RANCHIPUR was the remake of THE RAINS CAME---but also a flop...despite the great cast. I've never seen either film, just clips of the disaster/flood scenes from THE RAINS CAME. Oh well. I've done dumber things than to buy the wrong movie poster before....

SEVEN SLAVES AGAINST THE WORLD:

You know by now that I dig my sword & sandal/peplum pictures from the 1950s and '60s. I call them just Hercules movies, even if Hercules isn't in them. I don't think Herc is anywhere to be seen in this one. I probably have this poster already...or maybe not. It was cheap. I could have lived withOUT it, but....

HERCULES IN NEW YORK:

Huh? Yes I like my Hercules movies---but even this one I find hard to watch. Arnold Schwarzenegger (billed as Arnold Strong) plays Herc here--in his first film role.In the original releases, his thick accent caused the producers to dub his lines (however the DVD features his original Ah-nold dialogue intact). Arnold Stang (!) is his sidekick. For some reason though, the original release posters are pricey. i have the other version with Herc riding a chariot through Times Square, but I always wanted this barbell version---and it's in marvelous shape. Yippie! I paid too much for it--but couldn't let it go by.

THE AMAZING TRANSPARENT MAN:

Yes, i DID get one of these last year or something like that...but that copy was a bit shabbier than i thought it was going to be. Upgrade time...and less than i paid for the other one. This one still has some issues, but...

BARN OF THE NAKED DEAD:

Another hold over from one of Rich's auctions. (Hence the watermark) I am sure i already have one of these posters--but this may be an upgrade? Wonderfully sleazy, schlocky poster for a crap film. O' how badly I wanted to see this flick back in the 70s when it came out. Also known as Terror Circus and starring Andrew Prine.

RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK (1982 re-release):

Drew Struzan's work on this re-release poster totally eclipsed the work by Richard Amsel on the original release's poster (in my opinion)...and it went on the influence the style of the poster art for the succeeding sequels. The 1982 re-release may even be more sought after than the original...who knows? (I have both so...it doesn't matter to me.). This is also an addition from Rich's auctions a while back,  Thanks, Rich!

FREAKS(1949 re-release on linen):

While it is only the re-release (and it's on linen...blah! This is now my third linen poster. You'll see my 2nd linen poster in my Oct. 15th post) and not the original release I'd love to have---FREAKS? I'll take it. This movie is ultra hard to get anything on., Yahoo. I got this in August but what else is new? Most of the things I've been posting since August (And will be posting into November) are from August. I am poor, poor, POOR now. So I consider this a lucky, last-minute win.

That's it for now. Have a groovy er, bewitching October.

I hate to correct someone as astute as yourself, Shawn, but this artwork is also by Richard Amsel (see sig bottom right) and not Drew Struzan.
Love that FREAKS buddy.  I was going to bid that baby up but I had other fish to fry.
Barn of the Naked Dead is one of the great crap-tacular re-titles. Love it.

Now, get on over to the Halloween thread and post your 'A's.'  piratemel
