Combat Shock looks terribly depressing. Love the Astro Zombies poster!

Hi Conor! Thanks for visiting. I have no idea about COMBAT SHOCK. It's a Troma flick, so you have an idea of what to expect. Whatever. Glad you like ASTRO ZOMBIES!  I dig it, too.

Jeff: I have no idea who the non-Linda Blair blonde model was. I'm just excited to get the poster.

Okay... Not that anyone cares (NO ONE looked at my last batch...which is okay), here are more recreations of my old posts. This process is basically for me and my own record. However, feel free to take a gander if you wish. This is taking forever to do (er, RE-do). UGH! I have more than 50 pages of posts and I'm only up into page 7 with these. Blah!  But here they are for your viewing or ignoring pleasure:

Also, in other news, I finally "did it". I stuck my toe in the water. We'll see what happens but I'm not expecting much because what i sent was pretty bottom o' the barrel. And just for the heck of it, here is some semi-shocking seasonal anecdotes (that have nothing to do with posters, but who cares?) https://monsterago-go.blogspot.com/2017/10/its-great-pumpkin-anus-charlie-brown.html LOOK if you DARE!

COMBAT SHOCK is a little gem. Troma only picked it up for distribution but to my knowledge were thankfully not involved in the production. The poster makes it look like a war movie which it is not at all. It's a pretty depressing film but considering its low budget it is very well made.
The director is living in Berlin now, shooting movies for German television.
I also have the one sheet. Cannot imagine it had a wide release. Maybe we are the only ones who own a poster for the film (and nobody cares....).

Shawn, your writing drive is on another level. Almost completely comprehensive. As well as your photos of your travels. The Oregon wedding part 3 seemed like a novel that I had to skim through for the sake of time. The history info. and building photos are great. As for the wedding, a bit overwhelming with the amount of content, granted I'm not a big wedding guy.  A lot of interesting stuff. Well done.

Hi there! ARGH! I am having more trouble trying to restore my thread. GRR! All of the previous links are no longer valid. I m0ved all of the poster stuff (the recreations were taking over the regular blog) to their own poster page. What a PAIN!  Anyway...

POSTEROID:  Thanks for the great info. I'll have to track down COMBAT SHOCK and give it a watch.

THIERRY: No worries about not clicking the thread links. For they most part they've been re-runs of my earlier posts which are now in ruins thanks to Photobucket. However, a few were "new" posts.  This one ( https://mymoviepostercollectionagogo.blogspot.com/2017/07/movie-posters-go-go.html ) was supposed to have been my return from my summer break...before i got mired in the whole Photobucket fiasco. It has a few good pieces I wish i had been able to share properly.

BRANDON:  Thanks for the visit, as always. You didn't need to read anything else on the blog (that was another reason i separated them), but thanks for the feedback. Always nice to have you visit.

Not that anyone cares, but here are the corrected links:

The Movie Poster Collection Blog (which has all of the re-creations from this thread):  https://mymoviepostercollectionagogo.blogspot.com/

Saw this on Facebook:

Quick tip for everyone who still likes to frequent the collector forums, earlier this year photobucket in their infinite wisdom decided to disable 3rd party links and extort their users meaning years of work and millions of photos on forums across the web lost their pics. Someone has delivered the big middle finger to photobucket and made an extension for Chrome and Firefox which allows you to view the linked photos again. I just installed it and it works a treat. Of course if the photobucket account has since been deleted it won't work but many left theirs intact in case such a thing was sorted. Look up photobucket embed fix on the google store.

Happy (almost) Halloween. Despite the fact that the posters today are not very Halloween-y (some are, some aren't), it's the best I've got for the moment. (I'm still not back into full-blown poster mode...). Let's take a look...

WRISTCUTTERS: A LOVE STORY:

I have NO IDEA what this is about. But the title was unusual (and obscure) enough to provoke a little interest and pick this up for a bargain price. One (of several below) from Rich's auctions.

NIGHT SHIFT:

A comedy that takes place in a morgue. I know I saw it, but don't recall it that well. I'm guessing they run a call girl service from the morgue? Henry (The Fonz) Winkler, Michael (Batman) Keaton, and Shelley (Cheers) Long star. It was a mild hit as I recall.

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA:

With the success of the musical version on Broadway and Robert Englund in the midst of the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET series, it was no wonder this gory version of PHANTOM  popped up. I saw it. It was okay. Today it seems forgotten.

THE DARK TOWER:

I read all of the books in this incredibly long series and was curious how they'd do the movie. Idris Elba was already wrong for the part (or so I had thought) because he was NOT the gunslinger described in the books. I could see Matthew McConaughey as the Man in Black though. But how could they possible make a movie out of the books? Although it flopped, I thought it was very well done. I liked it. I also instantly believed Elba was The Gunslinger after only a few minutes. Oh well. I guess there will not be any more. But I DID enjoy it.

RAZORBACK:

Do I have this already? Probably. But zowie! A killer pig movie. Ha! From one of Rich's auctions. Thank you, Rich.

ALONE IN THE DARK:

I saw this years ago and was not impressed. Does it deserve another look? I do like the artwork though.

BLADE RUNNER 2049:

I was super pleased to walk into that little theater in Oak Harbor and find this poster. I have not seen the flick yet, but hope the film (and thus the poster) become a cult hit down the road (as I know the movie itself tanked).  Despite the fact that the poster was rolled and in a plastic sleeve, I realized (once i was home) that a corner was ripped off of it. ARGH! Oh well. I'll have to look for another...

,

SLEEPAWAY CAMP:

Did I have one of these already? I kind of don't think so, so i am elated to have this. Yes, SLEEPAWAY CAMP isn't as notorious today as it once was. It was a basic FRIDAY THE 13TH rip-off with a brilliant twist ending. The initial 2 sequels did nothing for the series and the belated third was okay--but did many people see it? anyway--yahoo! I have a SLEEPAWAY CAMP poster finally!

WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES (Style C):

I just got back from visiting family in Washington state on Whidbey Island in the town of Coupeville. in the next town up, Oak Harbor, there is a small theater. They were selling posters for $5 each. Zowie! I picked this one up and THE DARK TOWER. I also picked up two others below (and am not happy with). I had already had a WAR FTPOTA poster, but this style is a little more interesting (even though I felt the movie was really milking the franchise and didn't offer that much new to the series).

IT:

I already have an IT poster and I am glad that I do. This was also a purchase from the small theater in Washington. It was also rolled and in a plastic sleeve, apparently unused. WRONG! Both top corners had obviously been stapled and the poster had just been pulled off of the wall, so both corners are ripped off and there are jagged tears across the top, like Pennywise took a bite of the top. Swell... Trick or treat? I got tricked...twice. Oh well.

Not that anyone cares, but here are the next 5 recreations of former posts. (This will take forever to do. I'm still in August 2015):

Hi there. Happy post Halloween. EEEK! Did everyone survive?

TED: You live right down the way from SLEEPAWAY CAMP? Awesome!

I'm sick (AGAIN) and had to work and had a MISERABLE Halloween myself. (You can read about it here https://monsterago-go.blogspot.com/2017/11/the-horror-of-having-to-dress-up-for.html or spare yourself and just look at the photos OR just avoid it altogether) But onward, right?  Halloween is behind us and it's a new day...and it's (surprisingly) time for a new poster update! (It's surprising because up until about an hour ago I only had two new posters to share. And then I won a bunch o' stuff on Rich's auction. Ha!) Let's take a peek at what I got:

THE EXOTIC DREAMS OF CASANOVA:

I've never seen this, but it is from the same era as my EROTIC ADVENTURES OF ZORRO poster and I thought they would complement each other should I ever hang them together. Although why Santa Claus makes an appearance on the poster is beyond me. Ha!

AUSTIN POWERS: INTERNATIONAL MAN OF MYSTERY:

I loved the AUSTIN POWERS series, especially the FIRST one. I had never seen this version of the poster before, but ooo la la, the Fembots are all over Austin. Zowie! Cool poster. Ya gotta love it, baby!

BATTLEFIELD EARTH:

I've never seen this, but I'm kind of itching too. This multiple Razzie winner is supposed to be B-A-D, like supersonically stink-o-matically BAD!  It could be a major hoot-fest. But something tells me that just having the poster and laughing at what the film COULD be is better than actually sitting through it. Ha!

ED WOOD:

Ed Wood, the real guy, is fascinating to me. He worked it and made it happen, regardless of budgets or writing abilities, directorial skills, or talent. And then there's the transvestism and angora sweater obsession. I only have a couple of posters for Ed Wood films (none of them the really "good" ones, though). Tim Burton's version was fun. I already have a copy of this poster but having another copy doesn't hurt.

FREDDY'S DEAD: THE FINAL NIGHTMARE:

The last (NOT) of the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET series was not the "best" as stated on the poster. It was actually kind of sucky. I do love the faux 3D look of Freddy seemingly emerging out of the poster. The film had a 3D finale but it was more of a head-scratcher than mind-blowing. I have this poster already, but who couldn't use another? Wish they'd make yet ANOTHER sequel with Robert Englund and explain away that lame remake in some way. This series was really fun and inventive...until it got it wasn't any more.

THE LOVE BUTCHER:

THE LOVE BUTCHER? Zowie! What is this about? I know nothing about this one, but it sounds like a fun and sleazy little oddity. It was cheap, too. Why not? If I come across the flick ever and see it I could end up loving it and I'll have the poster already. (Of course, it's probably crap, but I can dream...).

PUMPKINHEAD:

This was a fun little movie. Even though it has inspired 3 or 4 sequels, it's not that well known today, which is a shame. It was a different flick and I liked the voodoo-ish revenge creature story line. I believe I have both copies of the two versions of the poster already. The auction I got these two from included them together. This first poster has problems but the 2nd poster is in great shape. I thought it was a bargain.

THE SECRET LIFE OF JEFFREY DAHMER:

The poster actually shows the title as being THE SECRET LIFE, but wasn't this released and better known as THE SECRET LIFE OF JEFFREY DAHMER? I never saw this. The true events creeped me out to the Nth degree. I don't know if I could watch a movie version of it all...but then again, I'd know it was "just a movie". i still don't know if I'd be able to handle it though. But the poster...why not? It might be worth something down the road? Eew.

SPACED OUT:

I have never seen this before...and I have no idea why I wanted this poster so badly. Hmm. Fun art and all...but what was I thinking? Ha! Whatever. Steve will like it, I suppose.

And that's kind of it. Nothing too fabulous, but more than I expected to share for quite a while. Thank you, Rich for 8 of these 10 latest tidbits of poster goodness. Have a groovy a go-go November!

Happy Thanksgiving. Welcome to the continuing poster update-a-gogo! Today I am thankful for, among other things, APF and Jeff directing me to find this fix to see Photobucket stuff (based on whatever browser you use). Look up "photobucket embed fix" and download the app. I did and...voila! I can see my thread again! Yahoo.

Thierry, I am glad (and surprised) that you like the SLEEPAWAY CAMP poster. Thanks! I am thrilled to have a copy finally.

Okay... Here is the latest batch o' posters in my collection. Did I need these? No. Did that stop me from buying them? No. Here they are...

INCEPTION:

I did see this in theaters, but I'm not one of those fanboy types that totally got in to this. It was interesting...but not my thing. Still, I got this (and the one below) at a good price from one of Rich's auctions a while back. Perhaps it will rise in value?

THE NARCOTIC STORY:

I already have a copy of this poster, but I love, love, LOVE it. It's such a hoot. It's so cheesy looking. This is one of those posters that really makes me WANT to track down the flick. It has to be a HOOT. Ha!

AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING:

Okay, so this is NOT a poster and obviously one of my infamous stupid impulse purchases. Virtually no one (including myself) has seen this latest AMITYVILLE movie. It was pulled from release and rescheduled several times over the last three or so years. It finally sees the light of day on DVD later this month or next month after playing a few cities overseas--but not here. It's probably crap. But when i saw these "screen used" props from the flick--including fake credit cards, a class schedule, and (the selling point for me) fake school emblem stickers, I placed a low-ball bid...and won. No one bid against me. And why would they? No one has seen the movie. Ha! Whatever--I got some props. Whoopie...

FANNY HILL MEETS DR. EROTICO:

Most of you would dismiss this as trash. I'm sure the movie probably is (I've never seen it).  But I am THRILLED to score this. I have been chasing the trio of Barry Mahon's "Fanny Hill Meets..." posters for ages. They seem to rarely pop up. I scored "Fanny Hill Meets Lady Chatterly" some time back. I still need "Fanny Hill Meets The Red Baron", but the one I wanted most of all was this one, "Fanny Hill Meets Dr. Erotico". Why? Because it looks (based on the poster) to me like a sexploitation "Frankenstein" knock off. And, if it is, my bet is the guy in the upper right-hand corner is said "Frankenstein"-like creature. "She was 19...He was 75, but together they created life!"  From the late '60's. I wish someone out there would release all three of these as a triple-feature DVD/blu-ray.

CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS: THE FIRST EPIC MOVIE:

I see you shaking your head in wonder and disbelief. "Captain Underpants"? Really? Really. I have not seen the movie, but the reason I bought this was A) it was cheap ($3) and B) I read this book to my class at least once when i was a 4th grade teacher. It was a fun book. My students enjoyed it. Nostalgia...

THE NIGHT PORTER:

I have seen this film a couple of times. It's kind of nazisploitation-ish, but kind of not. Not a great poster, but for $3...

THE SERVANT:
I've not seen this flick, but it looks like it might be compelling. I've heard good things about Dirk Bogarde films, but have only seen one ("The Night Porter" above), I believe.  Again, only $3. Why not?

DAUGHTER OF DR JEKYLL:
Argh! I tuned into eMovie's last auction on Tuesday in progress. This was up. Oooooo. I bid and amazingly got it---for less than I expected to get it for. And then I read the description. OOPS! It is apparently an early 60s re-release. Darn it all! Still a swell looking poster though...

COLOR ME BLOOD RED:

Oh my stars! At LAST! The poster for H.G. Lewis' third film in his infamous Blood Trilogy, "COLOR ME BLOOD RED" is quite possibly the rarest/hardest to track down HG Lewis horror movie poster. I paid too much for this and it looks to be in fairly good (not great) condition---but FINALLY it is MINE! Whoo hoo!

THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN:

Zowie! This was a pricey and unexpected win. Whoever was bidding against me pooped out millimeters from my top bid. I kind of wish they HAD won (because I have to pay for this now somehow. EEK!). But how amazing (and colossal) that this poster is now MINE! Who hoo! It will make a great companion piece to my copy of the sequel poster "WAR OF THE COLOSSAL BEAST". YIPPIE!!!

And not that we need them any longer because of the app to fix the Photobucket files (But I had already made these anyway), here are more recreations:

Recreation 41: https://mymoviepostercollectionagogo.blogspot.com/2017/11/monster-gogos-shock-o-rama-poster-show_22.html

Recreation 45: https://mymoviepostercollectionagogo.blogspot.com/2017/11/monster-gogos-shock-o-rama-poster-show_50.html

And that is that for this posting. Have a groovilicious Thanksgiving. Cha-cha-cha, kiddies!

Hurry! Hurry! Get your tickets. The next edition of the Shock-O-Rama Poster Show is about to begin.

This new offering isn't all that exciting. Take a gander, if you like. What do you have to lose, except a little time, perhaps.

ONE FROM THE HEART (Review Style):

This was from one of Rich's auctions. I hadn't seen this review style for "ONE FROM THE HEART" before, so I bid...and got it for only $3. Awesome. Thank you, Rich.

AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING:

Last time, if you'll recall, I included a few props from the new "AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING" flick, even though it more or less never played theaters (although it was scheduled to open numerous times). I've still not seen the flick--and I do not expect much from it--but I picked up this little...what are these called?...marquee thing they put over the doors to the theaters so you know what movie is in what theater. I figured I could use it over my display of the props for the flick---if I ever get around to making a display out of them, that is.

HOT PANTS HOLIDAY:

I know nothing about this movie. This poster is included here as it was part of a lot. What a cheesy title though; "HOT PANTS HOLIDAY". I dig the tag line "From Frustration to Taboo Torrid Love". Ha! I especially dig the "See the Love Potion Voodoo Dance" blurb. Marvelous! But this is apparently an X-rated flick...starring someone named Tudi Wiggins.

THE AMBUSHERS:

Another Matt Helm poster---hooray! But did I already have this one? Hmm. I am NOT sure. I really need to organize my posters. That has NOT been done YET. Grrr.

THE FEMALE BUNCH:

I'm pretty sure (Am I?) that I have one of these already. (Do I?) I've never seen it, but I know it is a Something Weird Video that has drummed up a semi-cult following. I've not seen it myself, but...

FIST OF FEAR TOUCH OF DEATH:

Another "lot" item. I know nothing about this flick. Does it have a plot or does it just borrow footage from elsewhere to include Bruce Lee prominently on the poster?

HEAVY TRAFFIC:

I've not seen most of the Ralph Bakshi movies, except for WIZARDS and AMERICAN POP. I've been curious about the FRITZ THE CAT movies and HEAVY TRAFFIC, but not THAT curious.  Another "lot" win.

DRIVE IN:

I have several copies of this poster. I LOVED this movie as a kid. It didn't age very well when I watched it again as an adult. The best part of the flick is still the movie ("DISASTER 76") being shown on the screen (illustrated on the poster). The movie may not be as good as it was when I was a kid, but the poster is still very fun.

SUPERMAN:

I am NOT a fan of the modern superhero movies. The last superhero movie series I liked was the "Superman" flicks of the late 70s/early 80s. I wasn't a huge fan---and preferred 1 and 2 over 3 (just god-awful) and 4, but... oh well. I never cared for this poster design for the first film, but now I have one. Super.

HOT SKIN (aka DISCO DOLLS IN HOT SKIN or BLONDE EMANUELLE):

Finally, I already have one of these, but couldn't resist this (hopefully) better copy. And at a cheaper price than my original. Yowza! I'm a sucker for 3D and this is not only in 3D, but also in something called SEXURROUND. Zowie! No, I have NOT seen it. But I dig the poster.

And that is all for this time. Thanks for visiting.

Cheers!

Hot Pants Holiday, ahahah, hilarious !!!

"The Female Bunch", a movie ahead of its time, free indenpendant women :) but still, the director must be a man
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tb9FUBmyNx8

Bakshi, well, too bad you watched the bad ones of Bakshi.   Best imo are "Lords of the Ring", "Fritz the Cat" and "Coonskin".
Big fan of Bakshi, the guy who created the friendly neighborhood Spiderman !!

Greetings! I know I JUST posted a few minutes ago, but I'm b-a-c-k. Not with anything groovy or exciting (Hmmm.), but they are posters just the same.

STEVE, even as I was posting the particular posters you mentioned, I was thinking about you and knowing they'd probably catch your attention. Ha!

Big Boss, I'll have to keep my eye out for some more Bakshi to see. Thanks for the tip. Glad you also found the humor in "Hot Pants Holiday".

Okay. Let's take a look:

FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 3 3D:

I already have a copy or two of this poster. This was cheap--like under $4---so why not a spare to resell down the road a bit?

THE SWINGING CHEERLEADERS:

I have a few of the "cheerleader"/"pom-pom girls" sexploitation titles from the 70s. Actually, I am thinking this may be the movie that features a young David Hasselhoff in it. Ha! This poster has some visible flaws. It was from a "lot" I got a while back.

DR. SYN (ALIAS THE SCARECROW):

A Disney live-action re-release poster. I saw this as a kid---BORING! Another "lot" item.

BABY THE RAIN MUST FALL:

Steve McQueen? Lee Remick? Don Murray? Wow! Too bad the poster is kind of rough. Another lot purchase.

SMASHING TIME:

Two girls go stark mod! Oh my stars! I saw this in the VHS era and was disappointed. It looks like it had all sorts of potential, but it just went nowhere. Oh well. A lot purchase.

NORMAN...IS THAT YOU?

I never saw this flick, but remember it advertising in the 70s. With Redd Foxx, who was on "Sanford and Son" at the time---or maybe just off of it---it was bound to be hysterically funny. Another of the lot titles.

MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE:

Stephen King's directorial debut...and swan song. FLOP! Starring Mrs. Donald Trump #2, Marla Maples and a cool looking gremlin truck. Lots of potential again...but it fell short. Another lot title.

SCALPS:

I have a couple of copies of this poster. It's a poster no one wants, but I dig it. This artist (who is he?) did a lot of other great cheesy art for 21st Century Releasing.

THE LOST WORLD OF SINBAD:

This is NOT a Sinbad movie. It's a Japanese fairy tale that had been sold to American international, redubbed and was transformed into a Sinbad flick to cash in on the popularity of "The 7th Voyage of Sinbad". I already had this poster (maybe 2 or 3 copies). I do wish I could see the flick too.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS:

Feed me! It's the one sheet for the killer plant musical remake of the Roger Corman cheap-o classic. Yikes!

That was it. Nothing special, as I said. But thank you for taking a look anyway.

Grab your popcorn. It's time for another update-a-go-go of my movie poster acquisitions. While this bunch is a lackluster batch for the most part (Again?!), there are a couple (towards the bottom) I am excited about. Take a gander, if you please---or not.

THE WIZARD OF OZ
(3D re-release):

Here is the PG version of the recent WIZARD OF OZ IMAX 3D re-release. I have several copies already, but OZ is a classic and hello? This was only $2. How could I say no? This and the next few below were overlooked bargains from a recent auction of Rich's. Thank you, Rich.

THE AMITYVILLE CURSE (Video release):

This was possibly the WORST flick in the AMITYVILLE series...until everyone with a camera started making their own movies. UGH! Still, as bad as this flick is, I did NOT have this video one sheet (although I do have the boring British movie theater one sheet). I just needed this to round out my collection---but could have done without it. it was only $5.

STAR WARS (Special Edition trilogy re-release advance):

I am no big STAR WARS fan. I saw the original (4-6) trilogy in the theater but only saw one of the prequels (1). I did enjoy the last two new films though and will probably see LAST JEDI (but not during the first crazed few weeks). I bid the minimum bid on this (and my other wins from Rich), thinking I'd surely be outbid on all of them (I was outbid on several other things). Somehow these were overlooked. Really? I thought anything STAR WARS was a must have.

STAR WARS (trilogy DVD release promo):

Again, how did STAR WARS fans not go for this? Lucky me. I guess the Force was with me?

SWITCHBLADE SISTERS (re-release):

Quentin Tarantino's sponsored re-release of a 70s grindhouse classic otherwise known as "THE JEZEBELS". I have a copy or two already. Great exploitation art...even if it is a re-release.

SANTA'S FANTASY FAIR:

Just in time for Christmas, it's another of my kiddie matinee posters---this time for a Christmas-themed mishmash. O' the poor children who had to sit through this crap. I'm sure they must have thought they were all on Santa's naughty list to have to be forced to endure this flick. Ha!

SAFARI CANNIBAL (aka INVADERS OF THE LOST GOLD) (French):

Here's an oddity I...uh, needed. Maybe. Maybe not. Whatever...  Laura Gemser, Edmund Purdom, Stuart Whitman, and Woody Strode altogether in a cannibal flick? WHAT!?! I just tracked this movie down on DVD (under the INVADERS OF THE LOST GOLD title---what kind of LAME title is that, other than something trying to rip off the first Indiana Jones flick in an awkward way). but I have NOT seen it yet. Sure to be awful---hopefully cheesy, too.CHOMP!

DRILLER KILLER:

Here is a sleaze classic I've been pursuing for a long while--"DRILLER KILLER"! Ha! This late 70's schlocker came with two styles of posters. One is black and has an evident "R" rating. This one (blue) features doodled drill bits going through the photos with cartoon blood oozing from them and is clearly NOT rated. The late 70's / early 80s were a great time for these unrated films---like the original "DAWN OF THE DEAD", "MANIAC", "ZOMBIE" and this flick. A lot of theaters, including a few where I grew up, treated these flicks as "R" material instead of reading the "No one under 17 admitted" blurb on the posters. Otherwise I'd probably never have gotten in to see them. (I had to drag my grandmother along to get in to see "DAWN OF THE DEAD". She hated it and walked out in the first 15 minutes or so and waited for me in the lobby the rest of the movie. Ha! What a cool lady to do that, though.)

O.S.S. 117 IS NOT DEAD:

I've long been curious about the O.S.S. series, ever since seeing one of the posters for it. It looks like a James Bond knock off, but by debuting in 1958, it pre-dates the Bond films by several years (but not the Bond novels). I've never seen the films. Maybe someday? Nice poster though...Bond knock off or not.

MANSFIELD 66/67:

Wow! Wow! WOW! Am I ever super-duper thrilled about this one. The other day, I happened to stumble on to something. It was a mention of a new movie about the last two bizarre years of Jayne Mansfield's life...when she was dating Anton LaVey (the leader of the Church of Satan). YES, that really happened. Anyway, there is a new bio about her coming out called MANSFIELD 66/67. The poster below is the better of the posters being used for the film. Notice anything about the poster (aside from Jayne and Anton)? Hello? The artwork was done by SHAG! (If you don't know SHAG... visit his website here: http://www.shag.com/ )

I found the official website for the film and wrote to every email address I could find on it, begging and pleading for a copy of the poster. I got this response:

Our distributor sent us your email about our Shag one sheet poster. That was done exclusively for our festival run and we only have 2 left from the official Shag sanctioned printing. We need to keep one for our office but could let the other go for $200. Let me know if that works and give me your address. We are leaving for NY for a week tomorrow but I could get it in the mail today if I hear back. You can PayPal me at ############.

It looks amazing in person!

Yours,

Todd

I responded with:

Hi Todd.

$200!?! Zowie! I had NO idea, but I LOVE the poster, I LOVE Jayne and I LOVE SHAG. When will your movie be out in wide release or on DVD/Blu-Ray? I MUST see it!

I'll send the money now.

Thank you so much.

CHEERS!

So I sent him $200.  It's a first run SHAG print of the poster and obviously super rare. SHAG's first (?) movie poster. I can't afford it---but I couldn't let it go either.  And isn't the title clever, having the "666" all be in diabolical red? Ha! Yahooooo!

That's it for this post and for 2017. I hope you all have a happy holiday season. Merry Christmas and have a fantastic new year filled with adventure, success, romance, wonder, laughs...and incredible posters.

2017 is TOAST!
