Well, thank you as well, TED. I know we share a similar passion for posters (the bonus one below being an exception...HA!) It's always a pleasure when you visit--you know that. I always enjoy seeing what goodies you get as well (I'm still dreaming of your cool TRIFFIDS score. WOW!).

This is turning into a weird mini-bonus post. In addition to responding to TED, I also wanted to touch on this. I was cleaning out my "drafts" section of my email files and came across this. In my FAILED attempt at the beginning of 2016 to only buy posters I wanted/needed, i posted a list...my "Lucky 13". This was a list of wants i was going to focus on for the year. I was also going to ignore everything else---but that obviously did NOT happen. Ha!  Anyway, even though it has been a little more than a year, I thought I'd revisit this list and give it an update. NO, i did NOT get everything I hoped to (who can afford it?). BUT---i did score several. Look for the highlighted crossed off ones. Let's take a look:

"The Lucky 13"

I Walked With A Zombie (original)

Planet of the Apes

The Undead

Olga/Ilsa posters (Olga's Girls, Olga's Dance Hall Girls, Ilsa Harem Keeper of the Oil Shieks, Ilsa the Wicked Warden)

Aztec Mummy movies (Aztec Mummy, Curse of the Aztec Mummy, Aztec Mummy Vs The Robot)

James Bond (Goldfinger/Dr No combo, and future posters)

HG Lewis movies (Color Me Blood Red, Wizard of Gore, etc.)

Andy Milligan movies (Guru the Mad Monk, The Body Beneath, Torture Dungeon*, etc.) (*I have it, but am still looking for a better copy)

Blackenstein (Black Frankenstein)

The Blob (original)

The Birds

House on Haunted Hill (original)

Batman (60s)

So----there are still many I want to get....but with the few (4) I got, I just have to say...NOT too shabby. PLUS one of the ones listed above that was NOT checked off I DO have already. i'm saving it for a future post. Hmmm. Which could it be??? Can you guess?

Okay---lastly, I thought I'd just throw this up to get it out of the way. It's a poster I recently won (last night? Night before?). It's nothing big---so why save it?

THE PIRATE MOVIE:

Yet another scrap from my friend Scott's estate. I wouldn't have bothered (and may already have a copy?), but--even though I NEVER saw the flick, I did once meet Christopher Atkins and Kristy McNichol at some celeb thing and got a photo with them.So why not get the poster to go with it? Photo below (and ---ugh! I look hideous. This was, what? January 2010-ish?). Christopher Atkins could not have been nicer. Ms. McNichol though, while polite (I'm sure she wasn't thrilled having herself on display), (let's just say...) wasn't my favorite celebrity I've ever met. Of course, she may have been having a bad day...?

CHEERS and THANK YOU, as always, for your time and visit.

PS  I just dug through a box and, yep. I do already have a PIRATE MOVIE poster. Oh well. This one was Scott's...

Happy Valentine's Day!  Love is in the air... or maybe I just have gas? I don't know. No valentines for me today. I have to work. Ho hum...what else is new? So instead of spending my wad on chocolates, roses and dinners out...I shot it on POSTERS!!! Ha! There's nothing all that thrilling this time (I am really trying to cut back), but because I heart posters, I can't just NOT buy. Can I? Hmm...

Okay...This is a weird post...lots of kiddie movies and a porn title. Ha! Let's take a peek:

THE LOVE WITCH:

I have no idea what this is, but THE LOVE WITCH? Yowza! Sounds like something I might need to see. Someone posted something on another thread about this poster being available directly from the distributor...so I ordered a copy ($19.99 plus shipping). Not bad...and the poster is interesting. I hope the film is. And, with LOVE in the title, what a great way to start off the Valentine's Day bonus post!

THE GOLDEN GOOSE:

Just when I thought I had all of the kiddie matinee posters out there, along comes one for this movie. Never heard of it. But as a completest, I had to have it.

HANSEL AND GRETEL and THE BREMEN TOWN MUSICIANS (re-release combo):

The photo is not the actual poster. I don't have a picture of the actual poster, but found this one online. This was a free poster that came with THE GOLDEN GOOSE. I like my kiddie matinee posters, but I already have this one.

SNOW WHITE AND ROSE RED and THE BIG BAD WOLF (combo):

Another free one that came with THE GOLDEN GOOSE, but, like with the above double feature poster, I already have this poster as well.

THE LITTLE GIRL WHO LIVES DOWN THE LANE (?):

This is an unusual one sheet...I think it's from the US but I'm not sure. This also turned out to be from my friend Scott's collection. In fact, when I first spotted this, I sent him the link (not realizing he was dead at the time) because I knew he was a big fan of this flick. I had never seen this poster before--but obviously he had.

STAR WARS: CLONE WARS (video volumes 1 & 2):

Here are the first of several from our pal Rich at Movie Poster Bid (hence the watermark) (Thank you, Rich.). I already had a Clone Wars Vol 1 video poster...but this came with a poster for Vol. 2  Why NOT get it? I didn't know there was a theatrical version as well---which I didn't get. Oh well. i'm no Star Wars fan anyway.

STAR WARS EPISODE II: ATTACK OF THE CLONES:

Nope--not a fan, but this went super cheap (guess those "prequel" films weren't so popular? Ha!)
so I snagged it against a future (hopefully) profit when (if) it gets sold down the road. The art is nice--that's one thing I'll give the STAR WARS posters...

CARAVAN OF COURAGE: AN EWOK ADVENTURE:

Another Star Wars something. Also inexpensive. Maybe I can turn a buck down the road? No? Hmm. Decent art though.

GODS AND MONSTERS:

The biopic about the man who directed the legendary FRANKENSTEIN. I thought why not? (Especially since I'll never own an original FRANKENSTEIN. Ha!)

CARRIE (British quad):

This is kind of in shoddy condition, with the tears/missing paper in the upper right corner/right center. However, it was clearly meant to go with the other posters I posted a few weeks back. I got it to have a full(er?) set and because it was also my dead friend Scott's. The set seems most unusual. They must be some sort of special British posters. This, and the other posters in the set, seem more like a collage of lobby cards (with their images and captions) in poster form than true, regular posters. Interesting. Too bad they are torn though.

STUD HUNTERS:

Remember VD stands for more than just "Valentine's Day". Ha! Here is an adult movie poster to celebrate the day as well...

A while back, it was a work day and eMovie was having an auction I'd have to miss. So I randomly bid on a bunch of stuff at 5 in the morning---not bidding much as I am now broke so i didn't expect to get much. Throughout the day i kept getting outbid noticed on my phone -- as expected. I left about 740 that evening. As I walked out into the rain, I saw i had an invoice from eMovie. I actually laughed out loud when i saw the only poster I had not been outbid on was this one. STUD HUNTERS, if you haven't guessed it, is a porn flick...with a not very imaginative poster to go with it (although I do love the big 80s hair on the one chick in the inset). But the reason I bid on something like STUD HUNTERS in the first place is a good story (??).

In the summer right after graduation from high school (1983), one of my classmates, who also lived down the street from me unfortunately, started pestering me to take her to the movies. I had a car (it was a junky orange 1966 Mustang) and she didn't. The girl (I'll call her Kristy Christmas---not her real name, but close enough) was a rather large and obnoxious girl---who could be mean. I don't know why I ever gave in and said I'd take her, other than just to appease her and make her get off my back. She wouldn't tell me what movie we were going to (it was a surprise) -- just the time it started. She was directing me downtown, but there were no theaters left downtown that still showed movies as far as I knew (and I checked the movie page of the newspaper every day). Huh?

She directed me to the local Pussycat Theatre. What!? When I questioned her on it, she made some argument I don't recall...and we ended up going in. As we walked up to the theater, I kept hoping that for the next 3 or 4 hours, no one I knew would spot my car...as it was an easily recognizable eye sore. We got our tickets (it was a double feature) and, once inside the  door, I was amazed to find myself standing next to a snack bar with popcorn, soda, candy, etc. (In a porn theater? Zowie.) We proceeded to buy snacks at the otherwise unused snack bar. (Patrons who came in after us just made a beeline for the theater.)

I was in wide-eyed shock the whole time. The lobby had been painted all red and there was a large painting (on velvet) of a woman from the waist up topless. I don't recall seeing any movie posters inside or outside the theater. The theater itself was also red with red velvet drapes lining the walls. It wasn't very big, but Kristy was noticeably the only female in the place. Other theater goers were obviously stunned to see her. When we found a place to sit down (thank god i didn't look too closely at the seats. Eeew!) the other, uh... "gentlemen" in our row mostly changed seats to different rows. There was a steady stream of gents heading to and from the bathroom. Yikes! I prayed I would not have to go during the double feature and also wondered if there was a ladies restroom should Kristy need to go.

As I write this, I am reasonably sure that STUD HUNTERS was NOT one of the two films we saw that day, that it was a trailer that was probably shown before BOTH films. Why i think that is is because although i have no memory of the film itself, the theme song has been stuck in my head for the last 33 1/2 years. It pops in at the most random of times and stays for days. Not only do I find it amusing that a porn movie has a theme song...but LYRICS as well? Ha!

(musical intro) boom boom da-da boom boom da-da
(spoken by a couple of lady singers) Here we come...
(sung) Ahhhh-AHHHHHH!
Stud Hunters.
I need some hard core lovin'
Stud Hunters
I need some intimate shovin'
Stud Hunters...

That's all I remember---and I'm not entirely sure of the lyrics. But that's the gist of it. They played the theme song several times in the trailer---and I'm sure they played the trailer twice while we were there...and the damn thing has been stuck in my head since. I don't remember the names of the actual films we saw that day---but the titles FRISKY BUSINESS and LAS VEGAS LADY (LADIES?) are flashing in my mind? Real titles? Other trailers? I don't recall.  I don't remember seeing anything...just sitting there in shock and being in a daze...and of Kristy now and again leaning over during the movies and asking if I'd like a lemon drop. Unreal.

THE PIRATE OF THE BLACK HAWK:

I've never heard of this flick, but i couldn't resist it. It's exploitation genius! Notice in big letters (TWICE) it screams "BARDOT!", but only when you read the fine print on the lower "Bardot" do you see that it is Brigitte Bardot's sister...Mijanou. Hmmm... That's almost like a movie starring FRANK Stallone or DON Swayze (but prettier). Ha! I love the con...so the poster had to be mine. From one of Rich's auctions. Thank you, Rich.

RASPUTIN THE MAD MONK and THE REPTILE (re-release combo):

This one, although a re-release, is a real joy to me. Zowie! Patrons of this double bill got a FREE RASPUTIN BEARD to disguise themselves from the forces of evil! Ha. I love it. I have a similar Hammer re-release double feature poster for one of the DRACULA flicks and PLAGUE OF THE ZOMBIES where boys were given Dracula fangs and girls got zombie eyes glasses. Wow! I'm glad to have this one now to go with it.

PUMPKINHEAD:

Classic 80s horror. Glad to finally have one (or did I already? I really, REALLY need to make a spread sheet).

Okay---that's it for the posters this time. I'll be back tomorrow for my regular mid-month post. Now go out and spread some love (just remember to wear protection. Oh my!). Watch out, here comes Cupid.

Hey TED, thanks for stopping in. Glad you liked my Valentine post...even though the posters were, by and large, not so special. Not everything can be great...as evidenced in the posting below as well.  I DO have some good ones...but am hoarding those for later, special postings. But I DO always love your visits. THANK YOU!

STEVE: Nice to see you. I think I posted the bikini girl with you in mind, actually. Bremen Town is your birth place? Ha! How fab. I'm sure YOUR Valentine's Day was filled with, ahem,... "romance". Keep it up, you heart breaker.

Hi everyone else. You've survived Valentine's Day. And now we are half way through the month (well, actually MORE than halfway)---already!  Here are 10 more new additions. Most of these are holdovers from one of Rich's recent auctions (hence the MPB watermark on the photos). Come along for the ride and take a look or don't:

THE MAD EXECUTIONERS:

I've never seen this flick, but there wasn't much competition for it (maybe/probably it's a crappy movie?)  I went for it. Is the movie any good?

THE LIVING END:

"An irresponsible movie by Gregg Araki."  I've not seen this, but this director seems to be kind of a cult favorite. I DID see one of his films, THE DOOM GENERATION, and liked it a lot. Got this one cheap...why not? Turned out to be from my friend Scott's collection before I knew he was dead.

CRY OF THE BANSHEE:

Hooray! Another classic Vincent Price chiller poster. Not as nice as HAUNTED PALACE or HOUSE OF USHER, but...

AXE:

Here is another one I scored from our pal Rich during one of his auctions a few weeks back (Thanks Rich!). Also known as CALIFORNIA AXE MASSACRE (riffing another, more popular movie), this is strictly drive-in, B-movie  fodder. Couldn't pass it up.

LATITUDE ZERO:

I got a Thai version of this a while back. I've still never seen the movie. i do dig the power rays or whatever coming from their fingertips. Zowie! What's that all about? Could be a cheesy groovy movie. Cool poster.

AT THE EARTH'S CORE:

I actually saw this in the theaters as a kid back in the day, and even then it was ultra cheesy...but you couldn't look away. My eyes were glued to the screen. The poster art has always enchanted me too. I already have a copy, but why not another for a rainy day?

RAZORBACK:

I've been curious about this movie for years. I have the DVD---just have never seen it yet. The poster always seems to get snatched out from under me too. Why? I got me a copy---hope to see the film some day. Is it a GIANT pig in it or something? Yowza! This first appeared on my radar because it stars Gregory Harrison, star of TV's LOGAN'S RUN (which, if you'll remember was based off of the film of the same name -- which was the first poster I ever got!)

SECONDS:

I've long been curious about this Rock Hudson flick. I've never seen it, but doesn't aging Rock get somehow turned into a younger guy?  Hmm.

THE THIEF OF BAGHDAD and SPIDERMAN STRIKES BACK (British quad combo):

This was interesting (and inexpensive). I'm not sure what THIEF OF BAGHDAD is...never saw it...but the SPIDERMAN 2nd feature appears to be culled from the short-lived 70s TV series. That should/could be worth something to some fanbot somewhere maybe? I remeber the series--it was flawed and cheesy and no where near as fluid and "believable" as the newer movies are (I only saw the first newer movie--not a big fan of the super hero stuff).

HORROR HOTEL:

Here is my prize for this post. Oooooo how exciting. I've wanted a copy for a long, LONG time. Love the art...creepy fabulous.

That's it for now. Thanks for stopping over. March will be here before you know it...

BIG BOSS: Long time no see. Nice of you to stop by. i'm glad you dig the post. Not the best stuff this time. Sigh... As for that particular gif, I have no idea where I came across it. Sorry. I'm sure there must be others out there somewhere.

DAMO: YES, I DO have the SHOCKORAMA double-feature poster (I think my copy is buried in this thread somewhere...). Thanks for the heads up, if that was your intention...and go for it if you are interested. I also have a MONSTER A GOGO poster as well ( http://www.emovieposter.com/gallery/inc/archive_image.php?id=2123629 ). I appreciate your visit.

And since I am here, I might as well throw up ANOTHER hold over poster:

CARRIE(German):

Yes, it's another from my dead friend Scott's collection. I may already have a copy? It looks familiar. I don't know...

Anyway, thanks for popping over and saying hello, you guys.

See ya next time (March 1st...if not sooner).

SECONDS is so good it hurts :). An artistic achievement beyond description.
No main-stream of course.
Hudson was so proud of it, too bad Joe & Jill can't appreciate real art in movies and the film flopped badly.
(it IS a downer of course. Thank heavens for the 60s/70s downers, so many wonderful films.)

PECKINPAH: Hey, i really appreciate the words about SECONDS. (Cool German poster for it, by the way.) As I said in my post, I've always been curious about it. Now I feel like I WILL seek it out and give it a watch. THANKS!

TED: Glad you like HORROR HOTEL. i just got it in a frame last night. I plan to hang it just inside my front door as my place FEELS like a hotel. I have someone visiting all of the time, it seems. (My best friend is here as well as my mom at the moment. Both guest rooms full for the moment...but, argh! I NEED some alone time.) I'll post something about my recent frame jobs soon...and, hopefully, i'll get some of these up on my bare naked walls very soon. Thanks for visiting.

Since I'm posting, here is another quick-o-rama post.

LORD OF ILLUSION:

It's a recent win from Rich again...hence the watermark. I am reasonably sure I have one of these already...but there's always a twinge of doubt, too. Whatever. The movie was okay. It was no HELLRAISER though. Speaking of HELLRAISER, whatever happened to the planned remake?

Good night.

Awesome additions, Shawn! The standout for me (though I really love them all) are Girl Who Lives Down the Lane, Cry of the Banshee, and Razorback.

I have that Pumpkinhead as well...

Hey CHRIS. Thank you for stopping by. Interesting choices for your faves of my last few posts. As for the PUMPKINHEAD...I THINK I already had one, but wasn't sure. Better safe than sorry...I got it while I had the chance just in case I didn't have one.  What is the deal with RAZORBACK? That is sometimes a hard poster to get. I've tried in the past. Hmm. Maybe I just need to sit and WATCH the dang flick. I do have it somewhere laying around waiting to be watched.

Below is a super quick video of 8 posters I've framed in the last few days. It's an entire 1 minute and 21 seconds long.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/yPKx7iJghIM" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/yPKx7iJghIM</a>

Watch it or don't.

I WILL be hanging some up on my walls very, VERY soon. I am sooooo excited at the prospect of having my posters up on my walls again. YIPPIE! I can NOT wait.

And since I'm here, I might as well post another minor poster purchase:

MOULIN ROUGE:

I probably have this already--maybe. Hmm...  There are a lot of styles for this movie, but this is the poster I like best. Again, this is from one of Rich's auctions. Thank you, Rich.

Okay---enjoy the rest of the month, I'll be back on the 1st with another post (as usual), if not sooner.

DR. BILL, as a big Nicole Kidman fan (GASP!), I am almost shocked you do NOT have a LC set for MOULIN ROUGE yet. Ha! Did they even make them? i know LC are dying off, sadly. They don't make them here any more. Hopefully you can find some. GOOD luck and I look forward to seeing them when you DO find them. Thanks for saying hello.

DAMO, zowie! Thanks for looking at the video (no one ever usually bothers---and that is okay, actually). Glad you saw some posters in there you liked. And, indeed, i WILL keep you in mind should i see another BOOGIE MAN WILL GET YOU or ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE one sheets for sale. (You have great taste, by the way. ha!) You are always welcome to come back and visit.

CHRIS--I'm the same. I like the poster---got it finally--but shockingly have NOT seen the flick. Are you sure you are not my younger clone self?

Since I'm posting, here is another quickie poster posting:

THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH:

Even though this is a later JAMES BOND title and didn't cost an arm and a leg, I figure you can't go wrong with Bond. I already have this, but why not a spare? (Yes, another from Rich's auctions. Thanks Rich, as usual.)

Okay, thanks gentlemen once again for your visit. Happy collecting.

Hi STEVE. Thanks for stopping by and giving the video a watch.  It's always a pleasure to see you.

I've got to get in the shower and get ready for work. But since I'm answering, here is another bonus mini-post:

THE LITTLE GIRL WHO LIVES DOWN THE LANE (alternate style):

This is NOT from my friend Scott's collection. This is supposedly a rarer B-style one sheet that i do not ever think Scott had or was aware of. It was inexpensive ($7.99 plus shipping). So--I sort of bought it in his honor as i knew he was a fan of the film. I thought it would go well with my other rare style i DID get from his estate.

Thanks for visiting.  Off to the shower i go...

MARC: The PORN THEATER STORY... HA! I didn't think anyone would actually read it. I'm glad you got a chuckle out of it. Thanks also for the kind words about the posters. The offerings are somewhat "weaker" than past posts, but there are some jewels sprinkled in here and there. I am surprised that CRY OF THE BANSHEE seems to be one of the more popular ones, though. I see that particular title as just "ok". I got it because it's for one of the Vincent Price/Poe/AIP flicks. Those were always fun and they always had great atmosphere...but the poster could have been better, in my opinion. But clearly it works well for you and the others who mentioned it. Thanks for visiting and for bothering to read my little porn theater true life confession story. Ha!

And, since I'm here, here's a mini-bonus post...

PERILS OF THE JUNGLE:

I know nothing about this flick, but l LOVED the art---and couldn't let it get away. (Another from Rich's auctions, obviously. Thanks Rich.)

Perils of the Jungle is beautiful, Shawn.
That one needs to be framed.

TED, I am glad you like PERILS OF THE JUNGLE. I love it. I WOULD frame it, but i am trying to frame all of my horror stuff at the moment. I'm changing out my Bond and Beach Party posters (shocking!) for my horror stuff. I have this pipe dream that, this October or next, I'll have a showing of some of my vintage horror posters. I'm working on it. (Wish me luck.) But that means that PERILS OF THE JUNGLE will need to remain unframed for a while...

Speaking of framing, I have framed 5 more posters, one of which I have NOT yet shared on my thread. (I am saving it until way off on my April 15th posting, which is also my birthday.) You, TED, were the inspiration for me to track down this extra special poster. THANK YOU. If you watch the video, PLEASE do NOT mention it on my thread just yet. (Hmm. Maybe I should bump it up to my March 1st post?)  Anyway, here is the video of newly framed posters a go-go. Watch or don't:

And, golly, since I am here again, i might as well do another mini-post as well. It IS my mother's birthday, after all. Here is this:

METEOR (International):

Different than the US poster. Not the best disaster flick ever, but enough to bankrupt AIP. Yikes!

Thanks for visiting, as always.

See ya next time.

UGH.  I know i just posted a few hours ago, but it is time for a poster room update! (Not that anyone cares...)

As you can see from the poster below, my hall closet is now FREE of poster tubes:

Where did they go? Well...they are in the poster room, under a big table that I will eventually put my flat file on once I get it painted. (excuse the mess):

Eventually, I want to get another flat file and stack one on the other. I have my eye on one, but it needs to wait a while. Once i get the second flat file, the table will shift to under the window (where the desk is now) and the desk will to the wall opposite of where the table is now. That way, i'll have the table available for framing and other poster chores (photographing, packing up for selling, etc.)

In the mean time though, my poster room closet still looks like this:

Baby steps, right?  Once I am all fixed up in here, have the flat files, and have gone through the tubes, THEN I can start my spread sheet. Phew!

And since I am here AGAIN, here is another bonus mini-post:

KING COBRA (Australian Daybill):

This is another example of the (way too) many purchases because they are moderately interesting and cheap. I picked this up on eMovie the other day. Never saw the flick and, as I said, the poster is moderately interesting. Only $7. Not complaining a bit. Just...did I NEED it? Nope...

Okay...I'll be seeing you.

Always enjoy your videos, Shawn -- especially that one.
Wow, some great posters there.
The Indestructible Man is a personal fave.
Saw the movie umpteen times on TV and have yet to snag a poster.
What am I waiting for?
The Spiritualist, Night of the Blood Beast and The Bowery Boys Meet the Monsters!
I dig watching your psychotronic collection grow.
 cheers
