"Insignificant"...that is my safe word/therapy mechanism for fucking up...I did try and get the others after I realized what they were and they were gone...there were 6 total I think...I wasn't entirely sure they were original at first ...so I waited for them to arrive in Hawaii..when they got here I realized what they were and then the others were already gone...But to put it into context I was negotiating the Chaplin deal at the same time...they were about to be listed individually and I wanted to keep them together and I had to move quick...so I saved one historic set of lobby cards and bastardized the other...I was also selling some cards...and overseeing some epic material for my gallery..I'm the Director of Antique Maps & Prints so I was a busy boy...I was also watching those Metropolis trimmed cards too...and I let them pass....there is something wrong with me faint2.gif nono hitself

Those Chaplin cards are amazing!  He is still one of my favorite directors.  That scene in the film with Coogan crying and reaching out to Chaplin is one of the most moving in cinema.

It's the original Ohrai poster attached to the magazine that it came in.  As such, it is on the smaller side, but I still think that it is one of the very best Star Wars images.  I like it far more than the pricier Starfall, that is barely a Star Wars poster despite the pretty image.

I've never tried to get the Starfall because I don't consider it a Star Wars poster.  Like you said, it's just a commercial poster with a pretty image.  I could change my mind if I saw it for a good price, but I never looked for it.  The one above is great.  It was just in a magazine, never printed as a stand alone poster?

The is a slightly larger poster print/reprint/commercial, but I've heard that the printing quality suffers.

Something you might appreciate is that the back side of the magazine version is a poster for Close Encounters...

Hello everyone. I just signed up today. Back about 20 years ago I both bought and sold vintage movie paper as a way to help pay the bills while in college. Family life (and related expenses) have not allowed me to get back into it until now, but I hope to be back to stay. For myself, I collect Ernie Kovacs items of all kinds. For resale I will buy whatever I think is too cheap! My first acquisitions in nearly 20 years fall into the latter category.

Alice In Wonderland Six Sheet (original release)

Actually a pic of another one...I will post one of the actual one when it arrives.

Bambi 1956 re-issue six sheet

And a pair of Ronald Reagan linen backed one sheets:

Hell's Kitchen

Accidents Will Happen

Hope to join the fun. I have been collecting vintage sports memorabilia for the past 5 years or so, and am a long time member of the net54baseball board. Also have an Ebay account with over 1,500 feedback rating.

Please be kind and patient with the noob!

So.. hopefully I dont get strung up on these posts, at some point I will have a few available as well, but these suckers are fairly rare modern posters and glad to add to the pile.

Tough to find originals..

I recently watched this for the first time and I loved it.
Great posters, Dale!
 cheers

I had been holding out for the B1, but then I realized that, since the '82 Star Wars only comes in a B2, it would look odd to display all three posters at different sizes, whereas, with both being B2's, it would provide balance.

Also, my default size is B2's unless there is a really, really good reason to step up to the B1 (if available).

I got #7. I have historically stayed away from giclee's, but after getting this one, might not be so quick to stay away, as stated before this is quite stunning in person.

I have just mentioned in the Bond thread upon release of the new teaser poster, that maybe this is all we are supposed to accept in terms of design brilliance for the current poster output.

But then something like this comes along and I KNOW that the world deserves better.

These apparently are a little tough to run down at the present, recommended pick up for you newer poster buyers (no I will not have any :) ).

I got #3 - someone (I'm sure I know who!) beat me to #2 in the 15 minutes I took to arrange payment. Akiko is a very talented artist - I was drawn to these two one sheet size giclee prints of hers as well which I added to my order.

Edition #7/20

Left hand one - Edition 1/5

The Disney posters are great Tom. And congratulations Thierry on getting a first printing of Seven Year Itch. I don't know anything about dating French posters but I know how satisfying it must be to have got this rarity.

Thanks Mark.  Yes, it is truly an amazing find.  There is apparently another one in Japan, some big collector of Frenchies, but it was quite damaged and linenbacked.  It is the one Besson used for his book, and it was heavily photoshopped on the cover.  No other French dealers (or elsewhere) have ever had a copy, let along a copy as clean and crisp as mine.

It joins my Laura, Gone With the Wind 2 panels and Rear Window as four true unicorns for movies I consider among the best ever made. :)
