3 types of movie poster dealers on Ebay
« on: June 27, 2010, 02:07:58 AM »
I've come across basically three types of movie poster dealers on Ebay. I've described them below:

1) The very trusted, razor-sharp professionals. Usually you get good prices, good service and fast and safe shipping. When there is a problem, they almost act happy to resolve it. These are few and far between but there are a handful of these on Ebay. I can think of 5 or so without much thought.

2) The haphazard, careless and distant dealers. Usually you can expect your purchase to never go 100% right. Even when you inform them of a problem, they act as if it were expected and remain detached from the situation. Sometimes you will get a problem resolved, sometimes not, but the overall feeling is that they are used to these types of complaints and are just "playing the odds". Even negative feedback doesn't seem to phase them much, if at all.

3) The semi-professional, but sometimes sloppy and VERY fickle types. These dealers seem to communicate with you almost using what appears to be gibberish nonsense. It is possible to get good service from these types but more than likely they will "forget" about a flaw, etc. at some point down the road. With these dealers, learning about their mistakes becomes a personal issue and they will "teach you for teachin' them". I've dealt with at least 2 of these dealers before and informing them of their mistakes usually results in being blocked, yes, even when they made the mistakes or non-disclosures.

4.) The dealer who knowingly sales fakes and usually has several posters with signed autographs that he/she had random people sign some celebrity's name on it with a different color marker for each signature. This dealer will usually have a few posters mixed in with his/her lot that are actually legit but these are usually cheaper posters anyway. This dealer understands that in order to tell a lie and get someone to believe it you have to coat it with some truth. This type of dealer can also be referred to as a "Con Artist" or a "Son of a Bitch".

These are the worst culprits IMO.  The first couple of posters I bought from ebay were probably fakes.

Haha, no not all of em. Just the ones who fake injuries every few minutes. Overall I think that is what pisses me off about the game the most. Somehow they need to find a way to penalize the fakers. The ones that can be seen on a replay with nobody touching them at all yet they fly back and flop around as if someone just busted them in the face. Maybe start handing out Red Cards or Oscars for their acting jobs.

Last I checked I thought it was called being a footballer not an actor.

LOL, totally understandable. Actually, I'm not sure which countries have been released yet. Are you talking about my 2nd film "She's Crushed" which is the US title and some of the foreign titles will be labeled as just "Crushed".

My first film is "SideFX" and I do believe it had a British and German release. I know it had a release in France because there for a while those crazy french put the opening scene of the film on a porn site which has me in it. It was kind of like one of those sites dedicated to nudity in movies. Used too, it would pop up in a google search anytime someone googled my name. Now I think its several pages out if the website is still even in business anymore. I know one thing that sucked was anytime a new employer googled me, I knew I wasn't getting the job.

Sorry about England bud. Maybe you should try American Football for a year.  I'll send over some Dallas gear. :P

Yeah. They are the worst and it is sad. This hobby can be pretty tough on a newb.

I have a couple of Bravehearts that are doubtful along with some others. Im saving those for the authentication thread that no one reads  :P
