My daybill collection (and others)
« on: October 06, 2014, 11:09:20 PM »
I have agreed to post some of my lesser value posters here - I can't post the more expensive stuff because my identity will be instantly revealed.

Oh and to the crummy dealer I bought many of these posters from, if you so much as reveal my first name to anyone - either on these boards or off, I will use a private detective I know to track down your address - I already have your full name, PO address and cell number so it won't be hard. Since I have moved you only have my name.  ;D

Paranoid much?

That said - some nice Aussie posters.  But then again I am a genius so I would know...

LOL, I wondered how long it would take for you to crawl out of the woodwork when I posted my collection. *giggle* Enjoy - as it's the closest you'll ever get to it.  ;D

The more you post the clearer it becomes who you are.  You're really ruining the fun.

Thanks eatbrie, I didn't think you collected Australian posters

To Dracula guy, I think you're confusing me with somebody else. It happens.

Only OS.

I'm not a big fan of Aussie artistic rendering.  A little crude, imho.  But I know I'm a minority, so kudos.

Actually, I agree. I am still partial to the long daybills (especially the ones that take the three-sheet designs from the US) however many of the 40's and beyond daybills tend to look tacky. However, at least they use artist's impressions of the actors etc.. I like inserts but don't like how so many use photographic stills in the poster. Or worse, have some great artwork and then splash a black-and-white still in the middle of it like in the Sunset Boulevard insert which completely ruins it IMO.
