I have two posters that are this size and I don't think there could be a more annoying 1 sheet size considering all of my mylar sleeves are for 27 x 41 posters.

Chop-Top, are they printer's proofs with color bars down the side?  They are usually oversize...
Or, are they Argentinian? They are usually 28 wide...

there are lots of posters that are 28x41 and 28x42
many are 1940s-50s exploitation titles, but I do see it ocassionally on newer titles (meaning post 1960)

I have a couple that are around 28 X 42.  One is a poster for Axe (1977) and the other is for Swamp Girl (1971.)  It's sometimes a good thing when certain titles are a bit oversized like that.  I've heard that a lot of Axe posters are trimmed because some theaters showing the film would trim the poster down so that it could fit into the display frames.  So at least I know that mine is untrimmed.

I have a DEMONS and it is also 28" wide. 
Typical of several independent and foreign releases here in the U.S.
