Hi Iojabba and welcome, i ' m a beginner like you here  :); if there in Korea you can find something like these ones http://www.pinterest.com/pin/470344754803235962/, http://www.pinterest.com/pin/470344754803235958/, http://www.pinterest.com/pin/470344754803235963/, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I'm going to see what I can find. Seoul is a very big place.

Cool, that's understandable. I've liked a lot of Korean films over the last decade or so, they have made some good stuff.

A Korean friend of mine pointed me to these two online shops. I think that I am going to have to visit in person though if I can find them. One interesting thing about Korea is that their markets tend to be organized (very loosely) by type of merchandise. You can find an entire city block devoted to cameras or books or whatever. I don't know how anyone stays in business when there are literally 10 stores selling the same hats or shoes withing a block  of each other. Don't even get me started on smart phones.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a district that focuses on collectibles or even paper. I did go to some antique shops a while back but no posters that I could find.

Thanks Lynbabs. I really like my avatar too. We went to a show with our local orchestra that featured the music of John Williams. Of course the local battalion from the 501st showed up in full Imperial costume. I was in my element. ;D

Thanks for that! I'll take a peek at that. Yes, that type of district does seem to be popular in the far east (I've noticed it in a few places I've visited)...must be hard to stand out from the crowd when every store around you is selling the same things!

Hello everyone. I have eavesdropped on this forum several time so I figured that I better join.

I am currently in South Korea (military), but I will be back in the states (Maryland) in June. I started collecting posters at about 9 or 10 years old when my neighbor gave me a Star Wars OS from the initial video release (82-83?). Also around that same time I got the "Revenge" poster from the fan club. I remember begging my parents for the 10 buck (IIRC) to mail away for it. They didn't know why I would want a poster with the wrong title.

Didn't acquire too many more till years later in college when I was a projectionist. Now I'm mainly after stuff from the 80's that I am nostalgic about. Like many collectors my age I assume.

Welcome to the forum!!

I hope you have some time off to enjoy South Korea - I really love some of their films,  Bong Joon-ho is one of my favourite directors. Boy is he good ;)

Hope you get some posters too  ;D

Thanks

This is my third time stationed in Korea and I am a fan of Korean cinema as well. Unfortunately, I do not speak (or read) the language well enough to enjoy most films without subtitles. So watching movies in the theater is not usually an option since they rarely show Korean films with English subs. Luckily most U.S. films are in English with Korean subs. Animation is usually dubbed into Korean since the target audience is primarily children.
