Yet Another Forum?

I do hope and expect H&T will consider a name change when the .forum domains open up. The "all"poster name had good intentions but has not worked out. We need a forum with "film" or "movie" in it.

I don't think it could be anymore perfect, Mel.Many collectors here collect posters in several different genre's.

I think we've all learned a few lessons.  I don't mind a new forum.  I was never pleased to see MPF go down in flames membership-wise.  Perhaps, those who don't find APF will find the new forum.  It is prettier than this old dog, and it has more bells and whistles.  I'm happy to see it and just as happy to be here with this old warhorse of a forum.

About 0.5% of the poster comments here are about non-movie posters/prints.  AllPosterForum after four years of being by far the most active poster forum is still behind MPF in Google search results.  Consequently, I suspect that MPF sucks up most potential members, which as Archie points out are essential to forums:

a lot of that is dependent on the search string.  If you type "movie poster discussion", APF doesn't even make the first page.

You guys and gals don't seem to get it. Thierry and I have no ambition to make this place anything other than what it is.  The RIGHT people find their way here.  We have no interest in quantity over quality like Andy does.  We have no ego in this place.  Truly.

So, why do some of you keep talking about search results and google rankings and the like, with the implication that "we could do better?"  We don't care to.

In addition, on any given day, in addition to the 20-30+ registered members who are signed in, are the 190-230+ unregistered, anonymous "Guests" that are perusing APF. That is a healthy number, even if a certain % are repeat visitors.

So people are finding their way here and reading its contents... daily!   

Not too shabby, considering the original intent and purpose of the forum of both H & T, when they chose to set it up initially, or how many members it might even bring in.
