Really beautiful posters Chris.

I assume that these posters didn't make their way to Canada from Egypt !! If so, great buys and great ''rescues'' !!

I would assume they don't advertise Egypt in Egypt, though of course I'm often wrong.

Probably France, they stole everything else Egyptian right? ;)

More from the endless LOC treasure trove:

German Airways (1939): EXCEPT for the Nazi flag on the tail, which ruins it so I've painted over it, this is possibly the coolest travel poster ever:

Washington DC - American Airlines (1950s Edward McKnight):

New Zealand - BOAC Qantas (1950s): One for the "Down Under" crowd.

New York - Irish International Airlines (1950s Adolph Treidler):

Salt Lake City - American Airlines (1969):

Montreal - Trans-Canada Airlines (1952 Jacques Le Flaquais):

Hong Kong - Northwest Airlines (1950s):

Chicago - TWA (1960s Austin Briggs):

China - Northwest Airlines (1950):

Very cool poster and even from my hometown of Salt Lake City. Park City and Alta are two very neat places to go as well if you love to ski or snowboard.

I've been busy busy busy rounding up and digitally repairing exceptional travel and tourism posters.  They are scattered all over the Internet and high quality images are few and far between.  Here's a temporary showcase of some of the best HQs:

http://moviepostercollectors.com/Images/Travel/index.html

Here is my favorite so far:

The above original has 1000+ defects/scratches when viewed at full resolution (7000 pixels).  Here are my finals versions, including a yellow variant:

OK, I've now spent 60+ hours rounding/fixing up 250 HQ (at least 1000 pixels vertical) travel poster images from all over the Internet.  Click on the below image to go to the final gallery.  It should take a couple of minutes to fully load. Place your cursor above any particular image and it will expand to 800 pixels and then a slideshow will start if you hold the cursor there.  The image will change every three seconds in slideshow mode.

The best resources for travel posters are:

Fly Now! The National Air and Space Museum Poster Collection - by far the best source for large images but most of the pics needed a lot of repair work:

http://airandspace.si.edu/collections/group/fly-now

The Digital Poster Collection - by far the most pictures (many small however) and information from many obscure airlines:

http://digitalpostercollection.com/travel/airlines/

The Library of Congress - unfortunately you can't download any large 1923+ images unless you are at LOC:

http://www.loc.gov/pictures/search/?q=travel%20poster&st=gallery

Many dealers sell these but this is the best IMO:

Here are the auction listings on US Ebay for travel posters - typically much cheaper than dealers:

WoW. It is rather impressive display. Love the German and Hong Kong posters. A big no-no for the Spanish posters (flamenco? no thanks).

Pics looks fab. Great quality.

I see this as the future of collecting. "My virtual collection is bigger than yours".

Far less expensive, and no worries about damaged packages!

I think of it as "I've blown 20 times more money on physical posters than I should have and therefore will create a digital collection to stop the financial pain!"

Picked up nine "real" travel posters so far, in order of quality (IMO):
