Yes, I want smaller banners.  I just need Holiday to set it up.  The rest, I don't care.  But the two of you are hilarious.

This!
Can't signatures JUST be signatures and not giant banner ads?
Don't really want to turn them off as maybe I want to see T's collection, or check out Alamo posters - or hope people look at my kaiju posters.

But I don't want to stare at a giant obnoxious banner - especially one that appears 8x on every page (this means you Rich, don't you have some orders to pack or something anyways?).  :P

like I said, I wasn't the first guy to use them, PAL.
 :P

how about this for a poll.. when a dealer posts a FS/FA post in one subforum at 2:58pm and another dealer posts one at 5:59pm, and you post at 8:10pm. and then another separate dealer posts one at 8:47pm and another at 10:32pm, you aren't allowed to re-post another at 10:39pm so that you're the top post again.

ostensibly of course because you always want to be the top post because the concept of other people being the top post doesn't work to your competitive advantage and why would you want to share, right?

oh.. across all the forums, not just on the one forum, because of course this is exactly what happens day-in-day-out.

oh-oh-oh.. you also aren't allowed to start threads asking for there to be a rule about how many threads a dealer can post in one subforum i fyou're going to post several times daily.. how about that for a poll also

ps: thanks for the opportunity to get my banner posted again. you really are my pal
 ;)

Rich, you're missing the point.
This isn't about polls.  It's about banner ads.
Especially obnoxiously bold ones like yours.
Hint.  Hint.

Ted, I've already said I'll do whatever the rules require. I'm sure the rules will be updated later tonight & I will abide by them.
Now I'm getting in my banners for their last gasp before they evaporate.. My competitive advantage is at stake here and I can't let it go down without a fight.. or at least a load of laughs.

think about Ted.. do you believe it suddenly became an issue because it hurt his eyes, or because maybe MPB is getting more competitive and someone is trying to hamstring it, especially when I'm getting some of these great consignments I'm getting...

In reality, it has been an issue for quite some time.
I have gotten emails and pms about it.
And no, none of them were from Bruce.

I don't think you need to work so hard on your APF presence.
You are well-respected around these parts.

Okay Rich, we're all grown ups here and I don't want to have to force anyone into something they can do on their own, so please make your banner smaller.  1/3 of what it is right now would be great.  Bruce will do the same and I will ask every dealer to do so from now on.

Thanks,

Nellie

Maybe if you didn't troll other dealers so often you'd have time to get caught up on photography

I'm going to add 3 pixels in height every week so that silently my banner grows un-noticed until it is so big it fills the whole screen and 5 more Page Down button presses

I notice the banner ads keep growing and growing, and many pages are starting to look like that other forum.

Should banner ads be allowed on posts? What do you think (and yes, I know that the owners decide). I am just curious how those who actually post feel about them.

I am kind of stunned at the question. Why have you asked it and when did you stop adding a banner to your own sig, specially as for as long as I can remember you had an image banner complete with text AND links and now you do not (for reasons unknown) but you want others to have theirs edited or removed?

Its not "ad free" it's just not "ad supported". So anyone is free to post whatever they want unless it is deemed offensive, but be careful not to out-do Bruce or else he will create a thread like this one and have everyone gang up on you until you acquiesce to his demands. :)

All A-OK, let us know how it goes thumbup

If I receive positive feedback, I'll put the ad community service in my sig so others can benefit from this relief as well. Non dealers don't have to abide by the size restriction. Maybe I'll make it bigger? Maybe I'll combine a few similar sized helpful thoughts all in the one sig
