Author Topic: What WOULD be wrong with each dealer having a dedicated thread? (Read 16097 times)

What is wrong with the dealers' forum having a thread for each dealer, and each dealer could post a zillion times a day in their own thread, but could NOT post about their items for sale in any other thread?

That way, the "For Sale" and "Dealers Forum" could be combined into one, and anyone could start a new thread if they have not posted there before, and once they start one they could only make new posts in that one thread?

I see clear benefits. ALL Mexican lobby posts (or eMoviePoster posts) would be in one thread, and if someone never wanted to read it, that would be far easier than ignoring ten or twenty or 100 different threads.

What is the reason for NOT doing this?

It would be a good idea because there is a new 'Mexican' in the house who goes under the name Kirby McDaniel (yeah yeah I said his name but you all thought it didn't you?).

I like Kirby and he is a friend, and he knows more about movie posters than almost anyone here, and I don't care how many threads he starts.

I know that if the rule was changed as I outlined above, he would only make for sale posts in his thread, as would I.

This is a change that would not hurt anyone, and would make many members happy.

that's a good idea. Canadian posts will be at the top, US posts below them and Australian posts will be at the bottom, down under.

Bruce, you started this thread and friend or not, he is posting for sale items 2-3 times a day which is considerably more than anyone else has been since the good old Mexican days and on top of that is starting a new thread each time, so if you don't care how often he posts to whom are you referring?

As to the original question, doesn't bother me either way, I don't read them, unless it's from someone I don't know and am curious, or someone who occasionally does and seems to have stuff I'm interested in sometimes (not often)

All the pro dealers I generally skip, because I know where they are selling there stuff from and will look myself without being reminded if I desire.

As to Kirby, I sometimes look just to see the poster for curiosity. I know I'm not going to buy it, but the title might peak my interest.

Usually when I click unread posts and all that's left is the for sale etc posts I click the mark all read button.

Im sure for most people who look at the forum using the unread posts function, forum neatness means nothing.
