***UPDATE***
So.....4 months later ...this is how the story ends......
1) Called Alain in early June to check if my posters were ready (with him for over
4 months now)
2) Alain response was: you will have them “next week”
3) I responded: I heard that before
4) Heard a ''click''. He hung up on me.
…Taking a deep breath….go to N. 5
5) Text from Alain a week later. ‘’WILL NOT RESTORE YOUR POSTERS NOW”
Taking another deep breath….(see 6)
6) ..So I went to his studio to pick my posters up ….
7) Alain vanished. He wasnt in his studio. He asked a friend to see me instead. Saw posters....
N8) Alain LBd posters. This was done AGAINST my instructions. No restoration work was done
9) Alain LOST a piece of the original poster!
10) Alain KEPT my advance payment. I assume that he charged me for the LB and for his excellent service.
On that basis, if you are in the UK, and if you need a restorer, my advice, for all that it is worth is:
stay away from Poster Science/ Alain B. I cannot recommend his services. If I have to describe his service it will just be one word:
AWFULThe end
Ps- I am not in the mood for Poster love at the moment. I am not buying, selling or restoring posters... I am just breathing....
