Steve's (50s) website
« on: November 29, 2012, 07:09:28 AM »
I just went live with my poster collection website.

If anyone is interested in checking it out, I have created an online walk through of the website (60MB).
Expand the player to full screen size for maximum quality by clicking on the players '[]' icon (bottom right of the player):

http://gallery.eyecandyposters.com/misc/demos/1/EyeCandy%20Website%20Demo.html

If you'd like to jump straight to the website itself, here it is:

http://www.eyecandyposters.com

I know the site name is a bit naf and the demo not polished but, hey, its just for fun...

Enjoy!

Stevie Wonder has put together the best personal poster site on the Netz!

P.S. What's up with the Australian accent? "Todie is the die to die...."  :)

Thanks Mel. Yeah it's a bit embarrassing putting ones self out there with voice (or video). People change their ideas of what you are like. I seem to remember from your video you had a funny foreign accent too!

I didn't watch/listen, on slow internet this month, haha but agree, Mel has the accent - Steve I know doesn't have a strong Australian accent.
Site looks great, and MOST of the posters also, not sure I can get my head around Fast and Furious, but hey who am I to complain..? ;)

good work.

Yes it is funny how different people sound compared to what you expect, especially from different countries.

Nowadays I employ a "neutral" mid-Atlantic US accent and have lost most of my Southern accent from my childhood ("Y'all wont sum griiits with yooor brekfuust?").

Quite a nice site, to be sure.  It's great to see the ad posters you have.  Definitely a worthy effort!
Best regards,

I can't stand people with accents.  They all sound like idiots.

Nice site, Steve, and really nice collection...   clap clap clap

Steve,

Congrats on finally going live! The months of hard work and design (as well as the few sneak previews) and fine tuning have made for one of the best personal poster sites online.

Easy to maneuver, streamlined, great photos and information.

And the demo/intro aint bad either.   thumbup

She looks vaguely familiar, too.

cheers

Looks great Steve.

However, I guess we all have to start somewhere, but you freely admit your first poster was a Madonna poster?!

I think you should undertake some revisionist history - you have the power on the internet ;)

Looks really good, Steve! The website and the collection! Lots of pretty ladies in your collection. I'd love one of those TWA New York posters one day...very cool. The photos are good too, the colours look really accurate.

The Room Visualiser is a nice touch - I think I could fit a six sheet or two up at my place...not sure wifey would agree though :)

Thanks everyone for your kind words.

not sure I can get my head around Fast and Furious, but hey who am I to complain..? ;)

Yeah, Fast and the Furious  :-[  I don't see many movies, well, didn't back then when I saw that one and liked it so thought I must get it!

Yeah, the Madonna poster got me into posters... my first ever poster, bought about 7 years ago for an 80's party. I still love it!

The demo is made using Camtasia Studio software. Anyone notice the neighbors barking dog in the background. It barks incessantly at me every day I leaving the house going to and from work. How adorable!

Hey Steve, well done. I especially like your Size classification. No 13,5x11 7/8", just small to huge. Good stuff

Thanks Wim. Yeah that was a bit of fun to do. When I add a poster to the site I calculate the surface area then classify it small to huge. If someone wants a small poster, instead of filtering on different belgian sizes, and different mex lobby card sizes, insert/daybill sizes, they can just select small. For me I like to search poster sites for huge sized ones, but have to search seperately 81x81, then 81x 41, then 63x47, 93x63, 78x55, arghhh... This is the benefit of a collector building a site for collectors...

Wow!!!

Me likes alot. Congrats Steve! 8) 8) 8)

Thanks Matt. Check out my record collection with the "Include Adult Themes" checkbox on (left side)
