Stick to Dario he can work wonders with pencils and they will actually be water color pencils (right D)... Give him a shout.

No one wants to respond to my previous thread - So I'll just put it on the line here.  I finally was in complete awe to see that PM is using a pre-mixed wall paper paste as an adhesive.  Dextrin, Sodium Nitrate, and Corn Syrup (WTF??)

His airburshing medium is most certainly acrylic (yeah it's water based but permanent) and they use waterproof prisma color pencils (again permanent)...

I don't know if I would trust anything they would tell you...

I know Jeff has said they don't use fixatives, but why stop at acrylics and irreversible color pencils...

Plus Jeff, I think you miss the mark on the 'wet work' - it means you can't use overly wet mediums on poster already cut down because they will warp unless restretched...  No one uses anything when the poster is wet.

I just want to clarify that which is obvious.  I am only presenting evidence taken from PM's own site.  That being said I was not standing in their shop or witnessed them in action with the above.  John told me once that they put props in the pictures for fun such as a bottle of 'Instant Restoration'..  I can not say for certain that these things were done without the knowledge of the customer. I can not say much, other than if I were to decide to send a poster to them and was concerned about reversibility and conservation of my piece, I might get some direct input on what is being done to my poster.  I visually can see that they achieve brilliant results in restoration.

Got to go, Richard Castellano just showed up and asked me to go for a drive...   ;D

Hey all  ;D  I'm taking a break from collecting next year to concentrate on getting a few pieces linenbacked and restored in the UK. I've heard that Alain Bourgouin at Poster Science is a good restorer to go to. Does anyone have any more suggestions? Thanks  :-*

Apart from Dario the only other I have work by and is of the absolute highest quality,  (except Susan RIP)

Of the students the late Joe Hernandez directly trained (John Davis, Carol Tincup, Jaime Mendez, and Susan Olson) there is no question that Jaime is the absolute BEST and surpassed his former mentor.
The only question is can he be forgiven for past actions and should he be given a second chance.
This is a moral choice each must make on their own.

Judging by the work he's done on Ves' long daybills and my House on Haunted Hill, it's hard to argue against Jaime...

That said, Dario has definitely done some incredible work!

No argument from me on how brilliant Jaime is.
Yet to be disappointed with anything he has done for me.

Well said. Personally I don't know the guy, have no doubt his work is as good as said by many, but I choose not to support those who has knowingly try to screw others over.

Fair enough. Perhaps I should rephrase that, I would not knowingly buy or support someone who has participated in the scam to defraud by being a wiling participant in the sale of fake or counterfeit movie posters.

I am certainly not judging others who choose to do so, far from it.
