Where to find good, inexpensive poster frames?
« on: July 31, 2012, 12:25:32 AM »
Does anyone know a store, or website that sells good, inexpensive poster frames? I'm only in need of one frame, so I'm not looking to buy in bulk. I'm not sure if it will help, but I'm looking for a 27"x40" frame. Thanks!

Good quality and fairly inexpensive - plus great customer service:

If you are looking for super cheap (in price and quality) Michaels sells 27x40 for like $15. But you get what you pay for. Don't use it for anything you value.

Thanks, enki. I have purchased from Hollywood Poster Frames in the past for my Return of the Jedi poster. It's one of, if not the best frame company out there in my opinion. Like you said, you get what you pay for. The only cheap frames I can find don't seem to hold together for more than a few months based off the reviews. I guess I'll just wait until I get the $50 for a decent frame.

Wal-Mart 27x40 - $14.99.
I have a few that I've used for cheap posters.  They've lasted years.

I buy all of my poster frame materials at Guiry's.  They have 27x40 frame kits and they will cut on demand a piece of UV protected glass and sell acid-free backing boards.  I can put together a professional quality custom frame for under $70.

Used them when I lived in Colorado, but they are Denver only.  The frames at our local art supply houses make the Michaels frames look good.

That sounds good, I just don't have the money for a $50-$70 frame at the moment. I'm a college student, so money really isn't something I have an abundance of at the moment. I might just take a look at the Walmart frames like brude suggested. Thanks everyone.
