Nice, thank-you Matt... :)

Like most I have always been a fan of Marilyn but sadly I generally don't find Daybills offer a great likeness on MM, which is a shame. However, I recently picked up Marilyn ('63) daybill for myself (which is about to get restored) and I will no doubt be able to find a place on the wall for a Niagara daybill when I come across one...

Cheers David!

Yeah, The Misfits and Some Like it Hot daybills are terrible in that respect. That's why I'll never own them.

BTW, and every time I have ever glanced at the How To Marry daybill I always do a double take, I swear at first look MM looks like she is flipping the bird!

As is the her image on the LET'S MAKE LOVE db. It looks nothing like her, unfortunately.

Gorgeous posters there, even if drawn by the kiddies with the crayons.
I once contemplated collecting her for hubby (I'm not a huge fan) and thought...bah, who can be bothered putting the effort into something I don't really care for.

And I disagree on the Some Like it Hot and Misfits...you must get them (this coming for a completist)

No, there are other people who don't like her too, it's just you have managed to find the thread of people who do.

As to dumb blonde, hmmm - you can only be basing that statement on the characters she portrayed then that makes her a good actor because she has you convinced. In addition she (I believe) was the first working actress to form/own her own production company (with her fav photographer) which produced Bus Stop and The Prince and the Showgirl

Me, I am a fan (but not a fanatic), too young to remember her when she was alive but now old enough to appreciate her today.

Matt, Matt, Matt...
How many times do I have to tell you?
You can borrow my daybills and pretend they're your own, but sooner or later you have to return them.
Consider this my final warning.

Great paper, Matt!
 cheers

I read yesterday:

~~~~
3. She found it almost impossible to learn lines, and took 60 takes to deliver the line ''It's me, Sugar'', in Some Like it Hot.
~~~~

from 50 things you didn't know about Marilyn Monroe

"I'm a failure as a woman. My men expect so much of me, because of the image they've made of me—and that I've made of myself—as a sex symbol. They expect bells to ring and whistles to whistle, but my anatomy is the same as any other woman's and I can't live up to it."  - MM

How could one not love her?
She probably should have moved to London or so, LA made
many stars and also many people unhappy.
Collecting her in Germany is bit too pricey for my taste (or
better: my bank account). First release posters like Niagara,
River of no Return or Gentlemen prefer blondes are beyond $2000.-
I was lucky to get my Prince poster for free many years ago.
My only first release MM poster and one of my favorite posters
(not because of the mediocre film of course).

The Seven Year RR posters always sell quite good at Hershenson's.
Back in the 90 I had tubes of each size! Some 80 copies as I recall.
Wish I'd still have them now :)
