Interesting that nobody has listed any Mel Brooks stuff yet:  Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, Young Frankenstein, The Producers.

I nearly did Jay,Blazing Saddles is the only Mel Brooks comedy I found funny....
Perhaps because I grew up on the Star Wars Trilogy,Spaceballs was close to blasphemy..and the fact it wasn`t very funny...

Im with the 10 year old but what do I know I like Star Trek. Though I thought all the Trek movies except II Khan and maybe IV the whales were crappy. I like the poster artist  ;)

The trilogies to watch were done by Leone and Jackson.

Yeah - I like Stew's list too! Particularly Midnight Run at number 1  8)

Also liking Planes, Trains... cropping up in a few lists, I love that film. Has a big heart.

In no particular order my 5 today would be:

Midnight Run
Team America
Borat
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Elf

Airplane and Naked Gun should be in there too though.

Hey, I love old musicals.  Stuff it Ari.

OK, my comedy list in no particular order (of stuff that most will overlook)

1. It Happened One Night (Gable, Coulbert)
2. What's Up Doc? (Redford, Streisand)
3. Buck Privates (Abbott&Costello, Andrews Sisters)
4. Desk Set (Tracey, Hepburn)
5. The Philidelphia Story (Grant, Hepburn, Stewart)

But ask me again in an hour, and I'll probably pick a different 5.

Similar to mine,

Add Casablanca (yes, I do think it is a comedy) and Some Like it Hot, still the funniest ending ever
