Well, this is something I disagree with.  It seems that Cruise's crazy antics have made him a bad actor.  I for one think he is a very good actor.  Rain Man, A Few Good Men, The Color of Money, Born on the 4th of July, Eyes Wide Shut, Jerry Maguire... the list goes on and on.  I don't care if he's gay, scientologist, completely out of his mind... he is a good actor.

FAFDM = For A Few Dollars More

That has to be one.

I am still trying decipher the meaning of High Fidelity.  Are we talking just watching at home or best sound reproduction.. Or just top 5 films... or John Cusak movies or Stephen Frears movies.

Top five with music and sound:
FAFDM (The clock chime still rings in my head at times)
Great Expectations (Paltrow getting sketched to Pulp-Like A Friend/ The chimes in the opening scenes)
Megamind (don't know if this counts because it is animation, the sound was awesome and hearing the transition of Crazy Train when Minion came in was the best!)
Saving Private Ryan (opening scene - enough said)
EWS (the music made the movie flow and the silence was used to perfection)

John Cusak
Grosse Pointe Blank
Serendipity
Being John Malkovich
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil
High Fidelity

Stephen Frears
High Fidelity
The Queen
Dirty Pretty Things
Dangerous Liaisons
That all I could come up with...and I cheated with IMDB

Tom Cruise is definitely a good actor. I enjoy his films, including Eyes Wide Shut. His antics or religious beliefs, or his bouncing on Oprah's couch mean nothing to his ability.

That's like saying because Mel Gibson is an asshole & anti-semite that his films suck. It wouldn't be true, but he is an asshole regardless.

What is your obsession with Top Gun?  Is there something you're not telling us?  It's borderline unhealthy.

I get that, and it was funny the first time.  It's getting a little old now, thus my concern that a deeper meaning is at play.

C'mon, it's Tom Cruise giving the thumbs-up.

Speaking of obsessions, can we get back to talking about Black Swan?
