Bride of Frank
« on: May 09, 2012, 09:08:10 PM »
I found this reproduction being offered by moviegoods. The artwork looks more crude, not nearly as refined, for the period. But i had not seen it before, either. Anyone know what this was/is? Is it some later creation?

Yup.  Looks like one of those Ghana hand-painted jobs.  It's got its own charm though  ;D

It's original art from a local theater that was sold at a Sotheby's auction by Jose Carpio.

No kidding?
Do you recall how big it was and how much it sold for?

The Bride, with her purple hair and less than stellar rendition, too, is what caught my eye.   8)

I would hang it on my wall, I cant say I love the art as such, but I have a fondness for ugly things.

No kidding! One brief look at your poster collection immediately confirms this.
