Our buyers saved even more than usual in Parts I, III and IV of our December Major Auction! If you have
EVER bought from
ANY major auction anywhere (movie posters or anywhere else), then you already know that several unhappy surprises await you after your first winning bid. The first is that they tack on a massive 19.5% or 20% or even 25% "buyers premium", a hideous "service fee" that you must pay in addition to what you bid (and it would not be so bad if at least some or all of this at least went to the consignor, but 100% of it goes to the auction house (which is why they have it, so that they can deceive the consignors into thinking their fees are not extremely high). Worst of all, some auctions have a minimum $19 buyers premium, so they take $19.25 on a $20 sale, leaving the consignor with literally pennies.
The second is shipping. At almost every major auction, there are two terrible things about how they ship their items. The first is that they often depend on shipping to be an added "profit center" and so they often charge insanely high shipping charges that bear no semblance to what they pay to ship the items. The second is that their people doing the shipping (if they do it "in house") often no next-to nothing about packing vintage movie paper (and if they hire an outside shipping company, then it is even more likely that company knows little about shipping).
Of course, there are added worries. Many auctions use "stock images" (or enhance the images they take) to make items look better than they are, and often they mis-describe or overgrade items. This would not be so bad if they stood behind what they auction, but actually it is just the other way around, because almost every major auction subscribes to the "buyer beware" policy, where they guarantee absolutely
NOTHING about what they auction (
ALL sales are "final").
But all of this is exactly the opposite at eMoviePoster.com. We have
NO buyers premiums whatsoever! On shipping, we
NEVER charge more than what we pay to ship the item (plus $3 for packing materials) and often, in our "regular" weekly auctions, we have a flat-rate U.S. shipping, no matter how many items the buyer gets, which can save them a massive amount on shipping!
And of course we are well known throughout the collectibles world as having both the harshest and most accurate grading system there is, and we
ALWAYS show you an actual unenhanced item of every item we auction, so there are no surprises when the items arrive. And we alone of
EVERY major auction has a lifetime guarantee on almost every item we auction (we only make an exception of signed items). If
ANY item we auction proves to other than we said (an unmarked re-release, a repro, etc), then we offer a full refund the moment we discover our error, and we even refund the shipping. Most important, we track the people down, even if it is many YEARS since they bought the item from us!
BUT IN PARTS I, III, AND IV OF OUR JUST-CONCLUDED MAJOR AUCTION, OUR BIDDERS HAD A CHANCE TO SAVE FAR MORE THAN USUAL! What do I mean? In all three of those parts, we offered our $12 flat-rate U.S. shipping, no matter how many items each bidder won! This addition special promotion will end up costing us thousands of dollars. To take the most extreme example, the person who bought the Casablanca one-sheet in Part I only paid $12 for us to ship it to him, even though (because of the high insurance cost) it cost us $92.26 to send it via Registered Mail! And this was true with lots and lots of the buyers in Part I, (and also in Part III and IV), because in all of those three parts we only charged U.S. buyers a flat $12 shipping!
In addition, we had another promotion in Part I only, where all those who bought over 10 items received a giant refrigerator magnet, and all those who bought over 20 items received the giant refrigerator magnet,
PLUS the set of the first six auction catalogs we did (which originally retailed for $120)!
So these are just that many more reasons to always think "eMoviePoster.com" first, when you are thinking of bidding in any auctions, whether online or live, major or regular, etc!
