Godzilla reprint

As discussed in the Post-Auction Analysis thread, here's a quick authentication of the Godzilla reprint.  I've added this authentication to MoviePosterCollectors.com here:

http://moviepostercollectors.com/MPC_Authentication_Godzilla.html

Send a link to that authentication to any seller trying to sell this reprint.

The original one sheet poster for Godzilla is very striking and in high demand by movie poster collectors.  It typically sells for $1500+.

Unfortunately, a 26.25” x 39.5” high-quality licensed reprint is often mistaken for the original. The union logo is perfect and all the information and markings at the bottom of the reprint match the original, so sellers (usually unintentionally) often sell it as a “trimmed” original.

Fortunately, it is easy to distinguish:

- It is substantially smaller than the original.
- It is rolled.  (There are no rolled originals of this poster.)
- The red block of text on the bottom of the original is divided into two sections.  The red block on the reprint is continuous.

Pictured below are the original (left) and reprint (right, image from MoviePosterBid.com).

Note divider (actually the uncovered poster illustration) on original.

And she honestly believes she has two original GODZILLAs?
What a crock.

Ted.. looks to be the same poster listed twice, once as a BIN only. Confusing, tho, I would agree.

Read the descriptions on both. Each has the same areas torn at the bottom and side (the tears are the same length, too).

And someone has actually written the seller, about buying this. The question and reply are posted at the Q&A section on the page.

Great.
Now, she should re-list them as repros and sell 'em for what they're worth.
She might get a decent price...

How much was the seller asking for the copy that you were looking at?

think it started at 20.00, think my gf offed 200.00 and thank god i got out bid and it sold for like 400.00 i am pretty good at telling repros but that baffled me... i wrote her and she gave me such a believable story, heck in the OP the link, if you go to it to read it, it even shows the eBay clip and that seller was the one i was talkin too
