Finally his last film, as for my taste, it is among the 5 best films of the 80s:

Wow! Great posters...particularly loving the posters for Once Upon a Time in the West and the Dollars films. Claudia Cardinale...hubba hubba.

No more Leone posters for now :(
(except RHODES, have to photograph these yet).

But for some Italian photo bustas count as posters as well.
Thanks to their size.
But those are lobby cards of course, the biggest in the world (Viva Italia)

Yes, finally, after 28 years of waiting. Back then there was always the talk of a 4 -part (5-6 hour long) TV-Version. Like GODFATHER.
HomeVideo is a must here, 'can't make it to Cannes :)

MORE BUSTAS:

Today I got the first release 2-foglio (100x140cm) for OUATITW.
Finally, I guess I already dreamed of owning it back in 1980, when I first saw the film on the big screen.
The life of a (serious :)) collector - just wait long enough.. (I never had the money to spend $1000 for it or what have you).

Here it is before restauration (next image will follow in a coulple of days :)):

Congrats a fantastic collection, Mike.  clap clap

Of the 100,000 or so stills, LC and posters, what would you say or guess is the percentage of each category? Do stills make up the bulk of your overall collection?

Thanks Companero !

When it comes to buying, I'm more into stills & lc's since they are less expensive. And often the posters
have a similar design worldwide. So I rather have different images..
But as for collecting per se - I don't prefer one to the other.

I never counted really, I counted a pile of 2 feet and then measured (approx.)
the archive. (which is spread out, thieves will not find much here, in case
anybody gets funny ideas :))

Percentage-wise it is hard to say. I mean I have 39 int. posters for THE WILD BUNCH on the one side
and about int. 120 lobby cards and 1000 stills on the other side. But there aren't many BUNCH posters I do not have,
so it is always more photos than posters. I collect heavily on my favorite films and directors but
on some films I have so many posters & lc's it is hard to find new stuff. But one can ALWAYS find 'new'
b/w stills. For decent studio productions they often printed hundreds of different b/w stills.
I especially love behind the scenes shots.

I have a lot of German material too and since the lc-sets over here used to be so huge (18 - 50 in the 50s / 60s)
for each poster there's a certain number of photos...

Four hours of restoration, I wouldn't do it for Enzo Castellari:

(yesterday - today:)

During restauration (do you see the already inserted paper ?)

To make my week complete, I got my last missing photobusta. At least I think,
sets of 12 were common in Italy, I have 7 small ones and 5 big ones. Anybody
ever has some information regarding more Italian lobby cards, please let me know..

So here's the complete first release set :)

DOES ANYBODY HAVE A GOOD PHOTO UPLOADING PAGE FOR ME?
Free, no Yahoo, Google or something ?
The new PHOTOBUCKET software is driving me nuts.

Here are some new entries in my Leone / Clint archive.
FOD: German window card 1966; German double panel 1981.
FDM: 10 swiss lc's 1966; (complete) set of 4 US lc's 1980, Danish poster 1981
GBU: 4 swiss lc's 1967

The repairs look great, Mike. The appear to blend right in with the original poster paper.

Nice job!

Thanks!

Yes, I hate trimmed items, or paperloss. So I always store all sorts of old paper or cannibalize cheap old posters
to restore favorite items. I don't back them up with it (no overlapping), I insert using a surgeon blade. Then acid-free (is that
the right word?) tape which they also use for book-restorations - DONE.

Yes, great painter, Renato Casaro. Although both images are wrong (scenes from FEW DOLLARS MORE, not FISTFUL).
For me one of those 'long story' posters: When I was 13, I decorated our local cinema with it, re-release 1981... (Only one double panel was delivered to each smaller cinema). Afterwards I kept it and sold it about three years later, re-release posters weren't too much sought-after back then, without the international market yet.. I always thought I would get it back soon anyway.. But I didn't and years later it suddenly sold for $100 - $200 .. So I decided to wait.. Last week I swapped it for a RIFIFI lobby card and finally I have all 15 German DOLLAR-posters together again :)
