Offaleaters Collection of the Damned.
« on: February 18, 2012, 03:14:08 AM »
I am starting to work through taking pics and the 1st suitcase (YES SUITCASE) I came across was one of special items I put aside to keep for various reasons, so heres a start of my personal collection. More to come (haven't started looking in Hammer collection yet).

Sorry for any bad pics, but as they really aren't for sale I can't be bothered going back and redoing. SAYING THAT some I would sell, and a few I have doubles of, so feel free to ask.

I will start with a selection of Val Lewton items (more to come when i find them)

2 x Stills from CAT PEOPLE

2 reissue Lobby cards from Isle of the Dead, I love the border art (like the half sheet seen in my pics of my walls)

6 Lobby cards from Mademoiselle Fifi

Please believe me US Insert

My Own True Love Insert

Apache Drums US 1 Sheet

Please Believe Me US 1 Sheet

NOW to my Favourite Film, Hell Drivers, as above more Hell drivers on the images of my walls, also I have an Italian 2 Foglio somewhere but for now...

8x10 Stills

2 x stills, 1 x FOH still and UK LC

Australian Daybill

US Insert

UK Something.....

Another of my favourite films, THE SERVANT, one day I will get a quad, although the UK 1 SH is good enough for now.

And the Daybill.

The poster that started it all, the 1st Cinema Poster I ever got, 24 years ago.

Dawn of the Dead Australian 1 Sheet

Not a movie poster, but I must slip in these trade ads, this was my FAVOURITE toy as a kid

Some of my favourite Australian films:

The Thirst Australian 1 Sheet

Walkabout, one of my all time favourite mvies of all time

Puberty Blues Australian Daybill, well I guess if you aren't my age and Australian it might make no sense, but growing up in an Aussie Surfing town, this film captures it and them (Surfers) SO well. Great film, and one for all Aussie Teens to watch and learn what a bunch of assholes they are (haha thats my prejudice)

THE #1 Australian Film and one of the GREATEST Horror films of all time (Biased?) THE CARS THAT ATE PARIS Australian Daybill

Jesus Franco's wonderful COUNT DRACULA, with Klaus Kinski and Christopher Lee, both superbly reproduced on this Spanish 1 Sheet

1970's had the best vampires and in this case VAMPYRES from the 1975 film of the same name, lovely Spanish 1 Sheet

to continue the Vampire theme, Polanksi is one of my favourite Directors, and I love this Aussie Daybill for FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS

Anther of my heros as a kid was (strangely) RASPUTIN, got some weird looks from my Grandmother when I built a rasputin clock as a kid, and proudly hung it on my wal, ahh well, Aussie Daybill

Heres a poster that makes me want to see the film, Freddie Francis of hammer fame, what is apparently a german Sci Fi/Noir, love the art on Vengeance daybill

Another really for art alone, but again would like to see the film, Australian Daybil for Black Widow

I have a thing for Sea faring art, so Sealed Cargo daybill is a nice one,

In my top 10 Books, Treasure Island makes the suitcase

Maybe because my Wife left me, but have a soft spot for UNHOLY WIFE

One of the greatest films of all time, from the wonderful Ealing Studios, this is a reissue Australian 1 Sheet, i like it as it uses the UK art

Another of my favourite films, again from the UK A Woman for Joe... 1st UK 1 Sheet

Then Aussie 1 Sheet

The 1st Ed Wood film I ever saw (and my favourite), as I LED TWO LIVES (aka Glen or Glenda) this is an obscure US 1 Sheet

One of the greatest Sci Fi films ever, Fahrenheit 451, Swedish 1 Sheet (one day I will get the French)

Herschel Gordon Lewis and Dave Friedman teamed up to make some glorious Exploitation films, this was their first joint venture, US 1/2 Sheet (I also have a US 1 Sheet, but I prefer this)

Some may know I love Reggae music, this US 1 Sheet for the best Reggae Movie of all time ROCKERS was a gift from John Kisch who us oldsters will remember from The Poster Price Almanac and posterprice.com. now at Separate Cinema

One I just love for the idea, and the Exploitation, and the Snipe for segregated audience, Aussie 1 Sheet

Had this signed by Director Enzo G Castellari and star Franco Nero, for one of the best Spaghetti Westerns KEOMA

THE 1ST HORROR FILM I EVER SAW,,, at the Albany Drive In (Orana) in 1977 aged 4, Australian Daybill, means a lot to me, wonder if I saw a poster just like it on the night.

many will remember the story behind this, Taxi Driver, limited #'d Repro by Dario from a only known example of NYC Street poster

FINALLY the poster that says it all, a small german poster for some crazy film, Dog knows anything about it, but it just screams ARI, I am the chauffeur...

That was the most enjoyable cup of morning coffee I have had in years -- looking at your paper and reading your notes.
I REALLY look forward to the next suitcase dissertation.  Thanks, Ari!

No wonder it's so hard to find the good Polish posters...you cornered the market on the best designs.
Those Alamo artists should look to this one for inspiration.
What a great image.

the silver on this is metallic, its glossy, so not REALLY my usual taste, but it works.
