Apparently, the man best remembered as Merlin in John Boorman's EXCALIBUR passed away about 6 weeks ago (December 16, 2011) with nary a news blip.
Amongst his many fine performances, I especially liked him as Sherlock Holmes in THE SEVEN-PER-CENT SOLUTION.
