So here we are again, less than 48 hours away from the nominations.
Between 5 and 10 movies will be nominated. Probably 7. Unless Moneyball or My Week with Marilyn manage an upset, the list above represents the nominees, minus two or three.
I believe The Artist will win it all.
What do you think?

I have yet to see The Artist,I have heard of ridiculous customer comments about how they felt ripped off that that it is a "silent" movie, dear dear... I do hope Tinker tailor at least shares the honours overall... I don`t want the Oscars to be cheapened by publicity or vote fudging for artist. Stew

Since November I had a good feeling The Artist would win Best Picture. Now that I've seen it I totally think it will win. Best film of 2011 by far.

I am desperately looking for a Steven Spielberg signed letter (especially with Schindler's List content). If you have one I will make you an offer you can't refuse.

Of course, The Artist will win. I haven't even seen it and I can tell your that. It's been pre-ordeined by the great god Weinstinious.
I voted for the better question of what 'should' win... Tree of Life.
That a total piece of crap like The Help is even on a list like this tells you what a terrible year it was for film...

Why? Anyone can make a prediction... prognosticating the Oscars is not all that difficult.

True Archie,It is very easy to pick the best picture winner,It`s always the one that has had the most viral attention, web, print,tv,radio. But as a film fan I might have picked and voted for The Help if i had seen it.. who knows? Stew

Yeah I guess you are right, if we are trying to guess what film is going to win, versus picking the film we think *ought* to win.

It is rarely the case, but this year The Artist gets both my votes... should win, will win.

Rango was great. No offense to my wife, but it was my favorite animated movie this year.

Wow, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close took everyone by surprise this morning. It was probably the only surprise in the best picture category. Thankfully, I don't have too many posters left to buy. T

This lineup is very weak, IMO, might be the worst year for film in some time.

Thankfully, I don't have too many posters left to buy. T You are bonkers T, but then again so are many of us. My mum says I have mental problems, a sickness, collecting the small amount in comparison that I do. I just blame it on her for not bringing me up right. We laugh, then get depressed together.

Well, The Artist is probably my favorite movie of the past 5 years. I listen to the soundtrack constantly. Moneyball, Midnight in Paris, Tree of Life were very solid and should definitely be up there. The Descendants was good. The Help was okay (maybe more of a chick flick, though.) So were Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close and Hugo. War Horse was a miss.

Clearly and I thought that last year was pretty bad, but this is a boatload of crap. The Help was offensively bad and an insult to chick flicks. Extremely Loud was as Oscar-baity as possible - 9/11, autism, Tom Hanks... Midnight in Paris was cloyingly mediocre with a slapped on happy ending of the worst sort... Beginners was significantly better than most of the nominated films and a drastic improvement over last year's gay-themed charity case The Kids Are All Right.
