Has anyone ever gone to the authorities when a dealer can't prove he actually sent the posters.  I sure as hell can prove I paid him (personal check)... $500+  Across the US border too...  It may not come to this but I am losing some major sleep over this deal...

If your that concerned Charlie, I'd cancel the cheque. It's not worth loosing sleep over.

You would be better off paying with Visa, or the like as they WILL get your money back if all goes wrong.

Checks are already cashed...  I'm probably just gonna have to sit an wait to see if they ever show up... and then be pissed about it the rest of my life when they don't...

Hi Charlie, are you losing sleep over the money or goods ?
If it was me in the same boat and got messed about with something i really, really want. I would prob be as patient as you have been.
I may be wrong but i dont think your major problem is the 500  loss. Its a difficult question no doubt.

Well be persistent with emails, just to keep them reminded your waiting.  Also if it's a dealer, or regular seller of posters and it drags on for more than 3/4 weeks.  Just let them know you will out them on this forum, and all forum members will boycott their sales...

I have not had to get the authorities involved in any deals as yet, but have come very close a few times. Luckily things seem to work their way out, so I do hold some hope all will be resolved. It's just some deals you have to work at more than others.  My fingers are crossed for you Charlie, there's nothing worse than some tosser messing you around.

How long have you been waiting, Charlie?
Is it a Canadian seller?

More the posters.  I am in a holding pattern.  He has been communicating very well but doesn't seem to want to track down the USPS receipt for me.  Plus he is already taking the high road saying that even though he said he would ship the posters as part of the deal I was still suppose to request insurance and tracking.  Technically correct, but who doesn't insure packages valued over $500 (unless they self-insure)...  He didn't give me the option, but I failed to ask for it. As a seller (records, etc.) I insure anything over $50 requested or not as a courtesy to my customer and to cover my ass.  So you spend $5 on a $500 transaction...  Really?, and these were rarer posters....

Yeah but he couriered them to NY and shipped them from there so they were shipped from NY on the 5th.  That's 31 days...

Ah I am probably worrying over nothing they will probably show up or be RTS...  Once I shipped a poster to Mel Parcel post and it took almost a month and half I think ( we had given up on it)...
